I purchased a golden retriever puppy from them today and these breeders have been nothing but good to us. Bonnie and Randy are very knowledgeable, gave me the history of the parents and gave me great tips on how to take care of my puppy as a first time dog owner. They keep in touch and answer all questions that I have. Their puppies are BEAUTIFUL and so sweet. They care about the wellbeing of their puppies and will make sure you are satisfied.

We were blessed to pick up our puppy, Poppy in Feb 2024. She is a little over 4 months old. She is loving life on our 35-acre piece of property here in northern Colorado. We have been working with her on recall, and the basics of sit, stay, off. She is super smart. Very easy to train, treat motivated. She loves people and other dogs. We had her checked out by our vet and she is very healthy. Randy spent quite a bit of time talking with me before we chose them as our breeder. We are very happy with our newest addition.

I have known Bonnie and Randy and worked with them for over 10 years. I am a breeder of English Cream Golden Retrievers myself, and the Mountain Pine Goldens have been an inspiration to me on the very high standards that all breeders should have. Bonnie conducts extensive health testing on all of her dogs and only breeds the Golden Retrievers who have the best temperaments and excellent health records. I have taken my girls to breed with her boys, both Kong and Yeti. The puppies that came from these breedings were absolutely extraordinary, all of my clients say “This is the best dog I’ve ever had.” ❤️ Her females are absolutely wonderful as well, The sweetest and smartest dogs around.
You know that every Mountain Pine Golden puppy has received the best possible start; excellent nutrition, mental stimulation, a healthy environment and lots of love. The love and care that Bonnie and her family give all of their puppies and dogs is very evident from the moment you meet them.
I have learned a lot from Bonnie over the years and we continue to work together to produce wonderful family pets who exemplify the breed. If I could give Mountain Pine Goldens 10 stars I would!

Very sad to post this review, but I want folks to make an informed decision. I have a puppy from the Mountain Pine January 2022 litter and at 1 year old she needed surgery for elbow dysplasia. She is really smart and has an incredible temperament so this diagnosis of a painful and lifelong condition has been difficult. Elbow dysplasia diagnosis, surgery, and rehab is incredibly expensive and is a 'pre-existing condition' so not covered by insurance. We've been through a lot and it has been expensive and emotionally taxing to give my dog a chance for good quality of life. I believe this breeder does care about the health of their dogs so this is an unfortunate situation, but please dig into any health details and history that you can get for ANY puppy.

Edit: since this got a response, I want to clarify that I don’t blame Mountain Pine for this elbow situation; I’m honestly just sharing my experience. I believe that these dogs are responsibly bred and obviously Mountain Pine cares a lot about them. We did indeed follow all the puppy guidelines for food, exercise, etc. and my vet checked her out and said she was perfect when we brought her home. Maybe we both did everything right and still got unlucky. The unfortunate truth of this situation is that one sweet, very loved puppy will have a difficult life.

They have been raising beautiful, loving, and healthy dogs for decades. They have integrity, truly put their best effort and heart into raising their dogs; finding them happy homes. I have known many of their dogs, and had the pleasure of observing their methods and care for them. It’s hard and rewarding work!

Now I know where I'm getting my next puppy from. These folks have an awesome facility and obviously love their dogs. They are very well taken care of and beautiful animals. I've got dibs on the next litter, so get in line.

I went and met the breeders and the dogs. It seems like they have terrific Goldens, so I put a deposit down. I was to have second pick of the litter. I never heard from them again. I called, I sent emails, and just the other day she finally answered on the first ring. Turns out they forgot about me and sold my dog to someone else. Disappointed and heartbroken. I was supposed to have my dog today.
