Bodie was 3 and a half months when we decided he’d be a great fit for our family. As a result of our travel plans we enrolled him in the training program and he came home at 4.5 months. He is sweet, smart, easy going, responsive to training, and couldn’t be a better pup. We had a great experience with Marble Mountain. They were responsive to our questions and happily kept us updated on his progress including videos. We already loved Bodie before we actually met him and we quickly became his people. We couldn’t be happier.

We recently purchased one of Marble Mountain Kennels beautiful Labradors. They were lovely to deal with! And so professional and caring with their dams and puppies. The kennel area was always spotless, and the dogs/pups have plenty of daily outside play on the large well-kept rural property!

Our pup was whistle trained at just 8 weeks (free!) and even received extra special housebreaking training in the loving family home of a trainer for a modest additional fee. We like to joke that she came fully preloaded with the good-dog software!

Rest assured this kennel is top of the line
and the family breeders are fully transparent about their dogs excellent blood lines. The purchase process was smooth from picking our pup to purchasing her. The owners were so kind and accommodating when we were displaced from the recent Mill Fire. They are truly lovely people who care deeply about their dogs and reputation as a top breeder.

Highly recommend! Wonderful kennels, wonderful owners/trainers, wonderful Labrador retrievers!

Initially, I was not going to leave a review because I felt it would not really help fill the hole that I have right now. But after reading some of the very personal, negative experiences some have had with MMK over the last 5-6 years I think I owe it to any other family considering getting a puppy from this breeder. I completely agree that Pete and whoever is helping him are not willing to accept that they come across as uncaring when it comes to their pups and the families who are taking them home. We got our chocolate lab in 2017 from MMK. He quickly began showing signs of food and environmental allergies. He had a great temperament and was a wonderful family dog. Unfortunately, at the age of 6 he had to be put down because of end stage liver disease that progressed so quickly that even the routine liver tests he was undergoing because of his allergy meds did not pick it up until a few days before he passed. The vet felt that the cause was likely an uncommon genetic trait. I wrote to MMK to inform them of what had happened, in case there were others from that litter or those parents who had similar issues. I also expressed my desire to get another puppy from them in the future. As you can see from other posts, MMK often responds that we need to reach out to them and inform them of issues like this, using phrases like “you may have forgotten”. They obviously have the tendency to respond to negative reviews by making it seem like the dog owners are the ones not doing what they should be doing. In my case, I wrote them a heartfelt email thanking them for a great dog and letting them know of his condition (like they have asked many people to do in these reviews). It was a heartbreaking experience for my entire family as we went from a happy, energetic dog to not having him all in 4 days time. It has been 6 months and I have not received a reply from MMK, despite expressing my interest in finding another puppy through them. After this experience and reading some other reviews, I doubt that I will get another puppy from MMK. I recognize that not every dog will be perfect, but I do expect that whoever I get a dog from would seem to care more about the experience they are providing to families.

RIP Jack

We decided that we wanted a Labrador. We were looking for a red female but were more focused on temperament and health than color. We knew we wanted a female American Lab. After a lot of research we decided on a litter from Marble Mountain Kennels. There was a litter of dark yellow labs that were from parents that fit what we were looking for (a little on the smaller side of the breed standard). We filled out the puppy questionnaire and got on the list with 3rd pick. I am not a hunter and was looking for a dog that would fit in our families active lifestyle. Pete performed his "personality profile" on each of the puppies and next thing we know, it’s our turn to pick. Based on the profile results we chose the female with a red collar. She is the perfect fit for our family. She loves the water but is not obsessed. She plays fetch but is ok not playing too. She loves us. You can tell by her actions that she loves us. She is secure but not dominant. She is the most easily trained dog I've ever owned. She is the kind of dog that you want to be around.
I struggle to find the words to explain how happy we are with the dog that we got from Marble Mountain Kennels! If you are looking for a wonderful companion that works to make you happy, look no further. I can say, we found the perfect dog at Marble Mountain Kennels!

I brought Banjo home on New Years’s Eve 2021. I was so excited to have a new companion and running partner. I’ve had many labs in the past and have loved all of them, but Banjo is by far the calmest, smartest and has been very easy to train. He is now 8 months old and has brought nothing but joy to our home! Thank you Pete and Julie!

Our great dog just turned 2 and he is a fabulous addition to our family. He's my 4th lab and he is just as described by MMK. I chose him because of his intelligence (making it easier to train and have a well-behaved family dog), and his activity levels (he comes with me to work every day!). They told me his Dad had a great 'on/off' switch and he would make a great therapy dog. TRUE!

He is beautiful, healthy, intelligent, and super friendly and charismatic!

I recommend MMK to anyone looking for a puppy. You will not only get a great dog, but you have tons of information to look at different builds and activity levels so you can find the right fit for you and your family.

If you are reading this, you already know labs and all dogs require your time and effort and consistency to train them; and these smart dogs will be ready to do the work!

My family purchased a puppy from MMK in May 2022 and have been so happy! Our chocolate female puppy is just the best, she picks up everything we’ve taught her and has been so easy to train! She’s so smart and great with our kids. She is great to snuggle with on a rainy afternoon but is ready to go on a hike, swim, or to play fetch for an hour! We have started some hunting training and she’s doing great with that as well! She is our first family puppy and we will definitely go back to MMK when we’re ready!

I have to say.. I got my beautiful black lab, Muddy, from Marble Mountain in July of 2017. Daughter of Hope and Joey. She is 2 and a half now. She is AMAZING!
My experience with MMK was fantastic. Both Julie and Pete were highly communicative and straight forward. They do a terrific job socializing their puppies, which, I think is such a key element.
I paid extra for 1st pick, that was my gig. It was very hard to pick because they (the 3 girls) were so much a like, I think any of them would have been fantastic. . I paid extra for the puppy "great citizen training", which was an extra 6 weeks, but provided Muddy with such a great foundation of learning. I would definitely recommend the extra training.
At 2 1/2 years old, she just certified with my county's search and rescue wilderness air/area scent k9 team and is in the midst of training as an HRD/Cadaver dog. Doing great things!
We are getting ready to test for Oregon regional and she will do great!

Muddy passed her CGC with no problem. She can be off leash anywhere. She is a great backpacker and hiker and she is so patient and sweet. She has great boundary setting skills with puppies (and grown dogs) and is so happy and so smart. She is an amazing swimmer and intrinsically, by breeding, she is a pointer!
Down the road, my next dog will come from MMK. And Muddy will share her knowledge of getting such a great start in life and will teach her well.
Thank you, Julie and Pete! And Hope and Joey!
