Our family got a puppy this summer. It was our first dog and we quickly realized we were clueless. I think we accidentally trained her to do all the wrong things. In a panic we took her to a couple different trainers, but it didn’t work out. No offense to them but everyone is different and I’m sure they work fine for some people.
We decided to give one more trainer a try before giving the puppy back to the breeder, and we’re glad we did. After two sessions he was no longer barking at nothing, snapping at my kids fingers, or jumping on us. Well keep bringing her to Love Your Dog until these issues are gone, and then we’ll work on training her correctly with their help.
The other reviewer was right - other trainers made us feel bad and spoke down to us, but these guys encouraged us to ask questions and didn’t sugar coat their answers. The dog was treated fairly. My kids were involved in the process, and our whole family was given an easy set of rules to follow with the dog. What a difference!

We hired them to socialize our puppy and teach him basic obedience in a two week boarding stay. Our little man came back a perfect gentleman! Guests can’t believe he’s only 5 months old, and we’re able to take him out in public with us - last weekend we had lunch at a dog-friendly place in Antioch, and he stayed under my chair the entire time. There were adult dogs there who weren’t nearly as well-behaved as ours. We’re going to keep having their trainers come on a regular basis so he retains their work and they can keep building on it. He’s only a family dog but we want him to be just as well-behaved as a guide dog. Why not He’ll get to go more places and see more things. He’ll be more involved in our lives because we trust he won’t be jumping up onto everyone and nipping at fingers.
The trainer who was working with him was awesome. She tried a couple different methods until she found one that clicked with him, and then did the same with us. Their methods made sense to everyone involved and we weren’t made to feel dumb for asking questions.
