Even before I had Sonny they took care of my family’s pets and they’ve always done excellent work to help us better our fur babies. The only way I’d stop coming here would be if I moved out of state.

If I hadn’t switched my cats to this vet, my little man wouldn’t be with us. The staff here are good people and go above and beyond. Our kitten, Lady, was spayed by them and made a speedy recovery. I switched vets to them because I had never had a female pet before, and was anxious for a spay, so I went with the best. I didn’t have a good feeling about our old vet, whose office was poorly run (they didn’t even record when they vaccinated Lady or put her in their system ! which was a hassle when we switched her but they were so patient here figuring that out). I am so so happy I picked Lillington Vet Hospital. A month later, thanksgiving day, out of nowhere our boy, Leo, started behaving like he was in a lot of pain. Hissing, crying, not moving. Stupidly, I thought he had a cut on his paw. Their hours were limited the next day, but they fit us in right away. Most places weren’t even open. We waited only fifteen minutes. Immediately, Dr Janet recognized his defensiveness over that paw was a red herring and that he was experiencing a urinary blockage. It was terrifying and shocking, but we were in good hands. Their vet hospital wasn’t supposed to be open over the long holiday weekend, but to keep him close to home (the nearest open vet hospital was 1.5 hours away), Dr Janet went in to work to check on him personally everyday. The techs called us twice a day, letting us know how he was doing and how much he ate. They were so reassuring and caring. Everyone who cared for him sacrificed time with their families, and we will forever be grateful. He was hospitalized for 3 days with a catheter, sedated, and on a lengthy medication regimen. The techs they have on staff are amazing people and such qualified professionals. I cannot praise them enough. Through the many follow up appointments and weeks long at home medication regimen, they were just a call away and so supportive, cheering him on to a full recovery. The vet techs were personally invested in his recovery and so up lifting. He loves them, even if he is scared of the vet now. He perks back up when he sees the techs who cared for him when he has a checkup. Their compassion and love of animals is that great — he is happy to see the wonderful ladies who cared for him, even if it was the scariest time of his life. Now that he’s on a prescription food, he is back to his happy, healthy, playful self. Once, before a holiday weekend, I misestimated how much food we had left. They were open a few hours that Saturday, but they were updating their system and couldn’t take payments. They gave us the bag of food with an IOU. Most places wouldn’t do that. I was shocked! That’s how good these people are — it really isn’t about the money.

I am so grateful to everyone on staff—from the techs, to the vets, to the lovely ladies on the phones—for taking such good care of our cats and saving Leo’s life. This review is long overdue. Leo gets to live a happy life with his best friend, Lady, everyday thanks to them. It’s not just us who would be lost without him, but her too.

Thank you Dr. Byrne for giving my dog a chance!

Where do I begin? Odessa's story starts back in August when she got really sick with jaundice (yellowing of the eyes, ears, gums, belly, etc). As a nurse, I understand how dangerous this is, and I rushed her to the emergency vet. After stabilizing her, but still not understanding what made her sick, we thought she was out of the woods. We thought she was better, but she quickly got sick, again.

The hospital had ruled out a plethora of issues, but her blood work, which we kept returning every few days to get checked, was spiking back up. Enter in Lillington Vet.... This vet is so incredible and we have really been blessed with Dr. Byrne. She is attentive, intuitive, hard-working, and truly puts our pup's needs above all else.

After diving through Odessa's labs, all the tests run through the ER, and discussing all of what it could be, she suggested sending us to an internal med specialist to help us. Unfortunately, with the large bill from the ER that was racked up after only two days, I wasn't able to afford that. Thankfully, she was able to work with me and offered intensive home care with a lot of different medications, meal options, including special liver prescription diet food, giving her subcutaneous fluids, and regular visits.

I truly appreciate Dr. Byrne for being willing to sacrifice the potential business in turn for saving our dog and her well-being. It has worked out, and, praise God, been in good favor!

We thank her so much for the second option, because it was stop and go for a little, at the beginning. Odessa had lost so much weight and wasn't eating... But her weight has gone from 61 lb all the way up to nearly 80lb again! Her eyes are white as snow and I can't get her to stop eating! She is off the fluids, no more medicine, and she is our happy and healthy pup, again! She made it to her 3rd bday last month!

THANK YOU to all the staff! You saved her life!

They answered all our questions and make sure we understood the process for that day and the following visits! They treated Rico, our deer head chihuahua, like he was part of their family the moment we walked in. This was our first visit to the vet. Love this place!
