Do not board your horses here! Over the course of one month, my horses went from looking fairly healthy to completely emaciated. And all was denied by the owners. I finally had to remove them and file a case with animal control. The experience was horrific. Shame on you Legacy!! How can you mistreat such beautiful creatures of God?

This was the worst boarding facility I’ve ever been to. At first it was great! I loved it. Then after a few months when covid first came through the owners wouldn’t allow anyone to come out unless it was for 1 hr nothing over. I had 3 horses and that was not going to work. Then on top I left the barn and had already pre payed for the month after so I asked for my money and she denied it all. I had no proof of me pre paying because I was working for her and had her keep my paycheck for board…. I WAS 16!!!!!!

My husband and I board 9 horses at the facility. I am incredibly picky about care. I have some horses with special needs. They are fantastic. The facilities are well maintained. They also have allowed us to park our trailer, tractor and some other implements. We have been there over 1 year and plan on staying many more!

First off let me mention the good things, for several months I had a good connection with the barn managers. They helped me foal out my mare and did a ok job of it. They also gave me the option to work off of some of my board. But all good things come to an end and for your sake I hope you read my whole review. As barn mangers they only let certain rules slide and that’s if they really like you. They intertwine their personal life’s into their work and let it effect the way they treat you. They do what they think is best for the horses even if it’s not what you want done and for some owners that’s not okay. ( for example changing feed around without telling the clients) They do what is the easiest, even if it’s not the right way. In my opinion some of the harder keepers are not fed enough. All three of my horses left with ribs showing including my foal. (Not excessive buy enough that you could feel them and see them if they turn) they have unrealistic expectations of everyone and rules that are 3 pages long. (That like I said are lax sometimes depending on who you are.) you have to pay for EVERY little thing, (including if you forget to pick your poop up: an outrageous price of $10 a pile). Don’t even bother paying them to do your blanketing because there are times where it is 40+ and I have seen their blankets all still on even if it’s their heavy weights. I have also seen horses under blanketed. The barn manager “dawn” is extremely manipulative and controlling and in fact her favorite line to use is “you must have mistaken me for someone who cares” (how disrespectful and rude do you have to be to say that or even think it) now that I could go on all day about things like this and that. Let me tell you why I left. I had accused someone of something that they did not do, (sort of) I started my text with “not sure if this is true... and so on” plus this person had been sharing my personal info around and I was already heated about that. Well anyway this lady (she has been kicked out of two other barns in foco) went and complained to the barn manager and then I received a nasty text basically saying I needed to apologize to her. And when I said no, ohhh that’s when things got bad. These people who called me a friend completely turned on me and instantly began to treat me like a nuisance. I also used to teach lessons and ride horses for people, and understandably they required insurance. Me just starting doing these things required me to get insurance “not a quick process. ” they completely cut me off and did not let me teach anymore (which was more then 25% of my income) and once I went through the whole process of getting insurance they decided that it wasn’t good enough and rejected the policy that I had paid a lot of money for. Because they require a 3 month contract (which is ridiculous) plus a 30 days notice I had to pay the rest of the month for all three of my girls. Even though I was not welcome there anymore. In the process of moving my girls I wasn’t allowed to use the stall that I had paid for. (Keep in mind I had paid for this stall for the next 30 days) in my last invoice they also tried to charge me for things I had already paid for, then acted stupid when I caught it, they refused to talk to me the whole time and tried to call other boarders that I was friends with, to try and turn them against me. ( which didn’t work because I wasn’t in the wrong) . Anyway I ended up leaving and just basically saying screw this. It’s not a great place and I certainly would not recommend you to this barn. This is only a fraction of the things that are wrong with this facility. So save yourself a 3 month bind and board in a place that is truly drama and problem free.

The people who run this barn are too uptight, old fashioned and nosey. They charge up the nose for the smallest things, including grain, trailer parking, late fees, tack room space, and they even charge you to have them watch YOU deworm your horse. They do not inform you when they decide to change your horse's feed schedule, I was unaware my horse was getting TWICE the amount of grain that I originally had her on. They also are very unclear in their expectations, both in the board agreement AND in person. They say they will work with you on changes but will not listen to you. They talked down to me every time I asked a question and never made me feel welcome. I am a college student doing the best that I can for my horse and myself. Only wanted my money. Facilities are nothing special. Indoor is incredibly tiny and outdoor arenas have bad footing. Overall, worst experience I've ever had at a barn. Will take my business and horse somewhere else.

This barn takes wonderful care of its facilities and helps all of its tenants feel welcome and comfortable. The family who owns it are delights and always keep the best interests of the horse and owners at heart.
