Johanna Hadam is a terrific dog trainer. She worked with our large lab mix, Barney, for several months, focusing on leash reactivity, pulling on walks, and jumping up, as well as teaching basic commands and a strong recall. Johanna is very professional and committed to positive dog training, and her experience is evident. The program she created for us (working one-on-one with our dog followed by coaching sessions with us) was carefully thought out, and she was always organized and punctual. She followed each session with a report and detailed homework. Her coaching sessions with us gave us the skills to use with Barney and helped us understand our dog. We liked Johanna’s realistic approach (to both dog and owners), and the fact that she didn’t come down too hard on us when we didn’t always do our homework! Johanna has a great personality and is a joy to work with. We recommend her highly.

Johanna was recommended to us for help with our anxious dog, not only to help us find constructive ways to handle his anxiety, but also to help integrate him with our cats. Johanna was patient (with humans, dogs, and felines), knowledgeable, and creative in her approach. She recommended several ways to approach training, kept us current with homework, and was generally a joy to work with. Miguel is a more calm and content pup these days. Johanna is an amazing trainer! We first met her at a puppy training class and after we saw how our dog responded to her (and knowing that he needed additional socialization and help) we asked for more personalized training. She is incredibly patient, wants to know about what you would like to get out of training, and is always available for questions and concerns. Our puppy went from being afraid of the outside world and skittish around anything/everything that moved to having some more confidence and will trot around the block. Of course we understand that training is a continuous thing and are still working with him on skills but everything that Johanna did provided a good base for us to improve on. Highly recommend and start early!

Johanna is super well-organized and always shows up right on time. She is amazingly patient with our 'wild child' of an 8 month old Border Collie mix puppy, teaching her the various behaviors using treats and praise. We would highly recommend her if you need help training your dog.

Johanna is truly amazing! We were lucky enough to work with her to train our new puppy, Pattoo, and it was a great experience. she uses positive reinforcement techniques and was fantastic at explaining why they work so well.
We spent about 3-4 weeks with Johanna, and during that time, she spent an hour with Pattoo three days a week, teaching him new behaviors. She then followed up with us in another session to transfer those skills so that we could practice them during the rest of the week. Johanna's detailed lists and organized documentation made training our pup a fun and easy experience.
She is not only knowledgeable and skilled but also a genuinely kind and caring person who clearly loves what she does. She went above and beyond to answer all of our questions, even if they were outside of her working hours. We truly appreciated her dedication and willingness to help us.
Overall, we cannot recommend Johanna highly enough!
