I brought Benji to Jay 2 years ago for a 4 week B&T. We had used a couple of trainers prior to Jay, but we didn’t see any results except for increased reactivity. Aside from reactivity, Benji was a big puller. He was about 90 pounds when I dropped him off so imagine trying to control a huge fluffy dog with reactivity and pulling issues.

Vic was our trainer and when I got Benji back, he was still the same fur-baby I left him as BUT so much easier to handle. Vic sent us home with instructions on how to better control our walks and we immediately started working together. We went to every single group class (which is completely free after B&T!) for a year and diligently practiced everything we were learning. With all the help from Vic and Jay, Benji and I have been able to go on countless adventures together, on AND off leash!

2 years later, I sent Benji back to Vic for a 2 week refresher course because he started becoming reactive again after a few off leash dogs had run up to him and attacked him. Again, Vic was able to continue to help us through challenges and Benji and I have been living our best lives because of it.

To this day, we still attend classes when my schedule allows and Jay welcomes us each and every time. The best part about this program is that even after the B&T, you still receive training, help, and advice anytime you need from everyone, including other graduates. Thank you Vic & Jay!

JPK9 is the best! When I got Shenzi, a Cattle dog x German shepherd mix she was reactive to anything that moved fast, people and dogs. Within 2 months she already bit two people, I was in over my head and I needed help. One on one sessions with trainers wasn't working and I was not going to send her to a training facility because those don't work once they come home with you. When I found JPK9s Instagram I reached out and called Jay, he was amazing from the start and still is! He assured me that this is right up their alley and I sent my deposit that same day to be added to the waitlist.

Shenzi was with Vic for her 4 week board and train. He is calm, clear and amazing with the dogs. He posted videos of her training in his home, parks, stores, group classes, around her specific triggers and more. I appreciated how he would talk through some of the videos and explain what he was doing and why. It was mind blowing watching the videos and seeing her progress grow each day with him. When I got her back I was amazed at how tight her obedience had gotten and how much less reactive she was around her previous triggers. Vic really did that!!! He took amazing care of her and it shows because now Shenzi is OBSESSED with Vic.

Being able to continue training with her and going to the free group classes has been extremely valuable to my progress as her owner. It allows me to learn how to handle and correct my dog with the help from the trainers there. I was nervous going in but the group classes have an amazing vibe because everyone is very welcoming and friendly. Every trainer there is extremely helpful if you have any questions/issues. Any dog would benefit from training with any of the trainers at JPK9! I am forever thankful for this team <3

Our dog Tank has all the characteristics of a stubborn Bull Terrier. Anyone who knows about this dog breed knows they are a special kind of stubborn. We are the classic case of owners who gave their dog too much love, affection and freedom. Tank has always been a great dog, but he became reactive and rarely listened to obedience commands. At the time we considered B&T, we had a baby and Tank became protective of her on walks, reactive to both dogs and humans, and it started to become too stressful to take him out. We decided to invest in a B&T program before our baby could walk.

When we were looking for a Boarding facility - it was important for us to find a place that wouldn’t lock up our dog for hours in a facility, turn the lights off, train him twice a day, and provide mediocre reports only to do it all again the next day. Some places charged thousands of dollars just to interact with your dog for a couple of hours a day. You should know that your dog is in good hands with Jay and his team. They integrate your dog in their day to day activities. Your dog lives with the trainer in their home. And they don’t just abandon your dog.

Vic (Bless his soul) was paired up with Tank. Vic worked on gaining Tank’s trust by showing him the world isn’t a scary place and there isn’t a need to always be on guard and reactive. When we received video reports - it was incredible because Tank was doing things we didn’t even know he was capable of doing. Vic gave Tank a solid foundation of simple, but useful commands.

Tank held his commands longer and in public. He was able to coexist with other dogs and humans on walks and in public spaces like the park, shopping centers, and on group walks. Tank even did some agility work. It was incredible to see him climb picnic tables, playground structures, and even get a workout in at Home Depot. Tank even held his commands with his trainer out of sight and from huge physical distances.

After B&T was done, Tank came home less reactive, more willing to go on walks, and he thoroughly enjoyed spending alone time in one place in a settled position. He learned to coexist with other humans and dogs on our walks and has been particularly careful with coexisting with our baby. He isn’t dragging Mom around the block anymore. To be honest, we weren’t even sure if our dog wanted to come home because it looked like he really enjoyed his time at Vic’s house.

To speak to Tank’s trainer Vic… he is an exceptional trainer. He understands bully breeds and their tendencies. This is probably what sets this team apart from other dog trainers. They don’t take a one size fits all breeds because they truly understand the dog’s mannerisms and characteristics. He cares for your dog like his own pack. Vic is hands down the best.

Jay, Vic and his team gave us all tools to be successful now that Tank is home. Tank has trained us to be better owners. We have been implementing everything that Tank learned and Tank is always so eager to show us his skills and knowledge. Even after your board and train is done - the team is still willing to assist you to ensure your success. We live too far to attend group classes, but we love having the option if we need it.

We also now only take our dog to board with Jay. We drive three hours to see him because we believe in his mission and business ethics. Our dog has stayed with Jay at least 2 or 3 times now and Jay takes good care of him. His team is the only group we trust now to watch our dog.

Jay has a long waitlist for his program. We waited 6 months, but it was worth it. They are the best for a reason. They know dogs. They understand dogs. And they want to see dog owners succeed and be successful. Don’t hesitate to start. It’s the best thing you can do for your dog, but mainly for yourself. Jay and his team is no bullshit. They are family and we are incredibly grateful for him and his team for allowing us to be a part of their family. We recommend everyone to Jay and will continue to do so.

Outstanding professionalism!

I can’t say enough great things about Vic and Jay. JPK9-

I was apprehensive about more training when it came to my boy. (2 year old Cane Corso) He had continual one on one professional training.
I was experiencing more behavioral issues that were concerning. And nothing seemed to help.

The first time I spoke with Jay he put me at ease with his expertise and experience. The love for animals and the time he took with me to make me feel comfortable with my decision to board him was priceless.

Rocco attended a four week board and train program.

My boy being (my heart) defiant and not so friendly when boarded (JPK9), to a listening, calm and collected boy.

Vic was instrumental in Rocco’s success. He worked with him diligently and honestly did something I never thought could possibly happen- Rocco listened- no reaction with people or dogs. That’s huge when I had a very reactive boy.

There is something really special about Vic- Rocco gained such respect and love for him to form what I call a lifetime bond.

The care he received was exceptional.

Training is definitely unprecedented! Group classes and continual support are key.

I highly recommend Jay and his team and I thank Vic for educating me as well. His honesty and dedication.

I can’t thank them enough. I can finally take my boy to public places, the beach, boating and family events.

If one feels the need for training- being behavioral or just the fundamentals, I would definitely call Jay! Let him and his staff help you and your fur baby.

It’s honestly mind blowing what they can do with even the most aggressive, reactive dogs.

Much love and many thanks from me and Rocco. ?

We found Jay in 2019 and Vader went for a 2 week board and train when he was 6 months old and we still talk about how this was the best decision we made for Vader. He found his love for agility with Jay and a great foundation was set. We take Vader hiking, camping, paddling boarding, and just walk around with him and we get endless compliments about how well trained he is and we couldn't be this amazing team without the JPK9 family. All the trainers will answer your questions, help with any challenges, and everyone is there to support and help each other. The training classes that come after help social your dog in the proper way and help handlers continue to build that bond and solidify training.

We do not trust anyone with Vader when we go on vacation, we know that he is well taken care of, not in a warehouse aimlessly roaming around all day, he gets trained and one on one care, and loved on.

We honestly can go on for days about how much we love the JPK9 family and we recommend them whenever anyone comments on Vader's training.

It has been 3 years since my female dobie completed a 4 week B&T at JPK9 & still is the best decision I made for my dog. I was able to get her in right after she turned one. Definitely would have done it sooner if I knew what I do now. Before training Luna was out of my control. Jumping the fence to chase the mailman, growing and lunging at every dog she saw, and chasing joggers & bicyclists. It was to the point where I felt embarrassed and didn't want to take her anywhere. At first we were worried about doing a boarding program but Jay ensured us they would give us update pictures & videos on her progress. Luna was assigned to Vic & he did great with her. After we got her back he educated us on reasons why she was reactive, how to build up her confidence & showed us how to correctly use training tools. Today Luna is able to enjoy a better life because of training. We are always still learning but Luna would not be the dog she is today without Vic, Jay & the JPK9 team! Thank you guys again ❤️

I met Jay 7-8 years ago when he was working at a different Dog Training company running their weekly group training sessions. Our dog Pepper is a rescue with past trauma causing her to be anxious, reactive, and terrible/potential liability with kids. When I was pregnant, we took Pepper to individual and group trainings. Jay was incredible and through group training and helped us to build our relationship with Pepper which in turn built her confidence and decreased her anxiety and reactivity. Fast forward 7 years and 2 kids later we adopt a puppy named Lily. We knew we were going to put her through training and likely board and train (B&T), however I was really nervous to send my dog away to a stranger. I was recommended to JPK9 by a friend and immediately recognized Jay as our previous trainer who had really helped us with our older dog Pepper. We signed up for the 4 week training program and Kae was assigned as our trainer.

Lily is really sweet lab/pit mix. Before we sent her to board and train we had to send her to doggy daycare daily during the week because I could not have her running around my house destroying everything while we work. I could not seem to tire her out with all of the walks playing with her. She had endless energy so doggy daycare was the best solution for us at the time. For B&T didn’t have any specific issues we wanted to address, however with 2 young kids we wanted to ensure she had a very strong training foundation so that she was set up for success. Kae was incredible with Lily. Lily left us a happy, playful, goofy, puppy and came back to us a happy, playful, goofy puppy with a strong baseline training foundation that we are working daily and in group training sessions to build upon.

When I tell people that I sent Lily to Board and Train they give me a skeptical look and ask a lot of questions:

· Isn’t it expensive? There is an upfront cost but think about how much money you spend on doggy daycare and individual training sessions here and there? That adds up over time to much more than the upfront cost of B&T. This is a one time upfront cost to set your dog up for a lifetime of success. Note we no longer send Lily to daycare because with the help of JPK9 have set up a consistent daily routine with her allowing her to get her energy out, get mental stimulation, and get the appropriate down time she needs.
· Does your dog come back a robot and lose their personality? NOPE! Lily stayed in Kae’s home. I saw from the daily pics and videos on Instagram that Kae treated Lily like her own dog. She walked her, taught her how to hold a place while Kae meal prepped for the week. I could also tell from pics and videos that Lily had a blast.
· What about ongoing training? Group sessions with JPK9 are FREE after your dog attends B&T. I am able to speak weekly with the trainers to get help on little tweaks that I need to make.

I cannot say enough about how incredible JPK9’s board and train program has been for our family. I get so many comments on how well-trained Lily is as a 10 month old 50lb puppy. We take her everywhere with us. We take her out to dinner, to the park with our kids, wineries/beer gardens and she is able to remain neutral and calm in these new and highly distracting environments. Don’t get me wrong, she is still a puppy. If I let her loose in the house she will instantly find something to destroy, however she has an amazing foundation that we will continue to work daily to build upon. Thank you to Jay, Kae and the entire JPK9 family.

My two-year-old German Shepherd Odin, who has a high prey drive and was reactive to everything, recently completed a Board & Train with Kae with JPK9. I cannot recommend them enough!
Kae took the time to understand my dog’s specific triggers and worked with us on tailored strategies to manage and reduce his reactivity. The progress we've made is incredible—my dog is now more focused, responsive, and calm in situations that used to be overwhelming for both of us. Kae also provided me with practical tips and exercises to continue reinforcing good behavior at home and in public, which has made a world of difference. We get endless compliments on how well trained he is!
If you have a dog with similar challenges, or any dog in need of training, I wholeheartedly recommend the JPK9 team. The results speak for themselves, and I’m so grateful to have found such skilled and compassionate trainers.
