This place and these people are amazing! I own 3 large dogs, all rescues with specific needs, and these guys went above and beyond for them. They made sure they felt safe and comfortable. Not only are they a great daycare/boarding place but they’re a rescue center for other dogs. These people are doing amazing work and we will continue to use them for our boarding needs and support their rescue center.

Jake's K9 Retreat is an absolutely wonderful place to board your dogs. I was impressed by their boarding facilities and how each kennel is built with cinder blocks so they cannot see the other dogs while inside. The kennels are very roomy and have cots for the dogs as well. Each kennel has a doggie door to allow them their own outdoor space. I brought their bedding and toys to play with while there. Jake's also sent me daily pictures and updates as to how the dogs were doing during their daily outdoor play time in the bigger yard. Go and visit their facilities if you are considering a better place to board your dogs. I promise you'll be glad you did.

Jake's K9 Retreat is an amazing place to take your furry friends. Before leaving our dog there, we met with Ms. Jennifer a few times. She was more than happy to show us around and explain all the wonderful things they are doing for the animals. We also met some of the team members who work there, and they were awesome as well. We really appreciated the transparency and care that Ms. Jennifer and her team showed towards the animals. Jake's K9 not only provides boarding services but also operates a non-profit rescue called Jake’s House of Animal Rescue, where they assist and care for many dogs. We also like that the proceeds from boarding your pet help support their rescue. The facility is located on beautiful acreage known as The Wildflower Ranch in Willis, TX, which also hosts weddings, reunions, and other special events. Additionally, there are cabins available for rent, which also helps contribute to supporting their rescue efforts. Our dog, Roscoe, had a great time with Ms. Jennifer. She even sent us pictures of his day, which I will add to this review. When we went to pick up Roscoe, he didn't want to leave. This was a great feeling, as he's usually ready to jump in the truck, but this time he wanted to stay with Ms. Jennifer. It's clear that Roscoe was well taken care of, maybe even a little spoiled! We highly recommend Jake's K9 Retreat for your boarding needs. They are doing amazing work. Definitely go see them and meet with Ms. Jennifer to see the place. We will definitely be bringing Roscoe back. Thank you, Jake's K9 Retreat, for taking care of Roscoe for us, and an even bigger thank you for looking after the other animals that need care and homes.

We and our dog, Wyatt, love this place. Wyatt receives outstanding care, many opportunities to play, goes on walks, and they even cater to his great passion for water. The entire staff treats him with kindness and love and we could not be happier with Jake’s K9 Retreat.

We move 4 hours away but still board at Jake’s, they are that good! ❤️❤️ One of my girls is completely blind, but I know she will be given the care she needs to be safe and loved. We wouldn’t board anywhere else.

TL;DR: Jake's K9 Retreat is a labor of love worthy of trust, and my dog didn't want to go home on pick-up day!

So it's like this: it was the first week of December, and my wife and I had a flight after Christmas. First time we've ever had to travel during the holidays, didn't know what to expect with pet boarding around this time of year. We called every pet boarding resort and kennel in the area, and everyone was booked full. One kennel directed us to Jake's, and the staff at Jake's offered us a tour of their facility before we settled on anything.

Jake's is named after the owner's dog. Anybody who names their business after their dog, to me, speaks volumes about the owner's character, and that extends to the quality of people that work there. Roman was the person who greeted us for the tour and, I just gotta say, he is THE MAN!!! Roman gave us a rundown of what to expect while my dog was there. Through the conversations my wife and I had with Roman during the tour, we left the resort with the impression that Jake's Pet Resort is a labor of love. IF something unfortunate did happen to my dog (nothing unfortunate or bad happened btw), I was confident that Roman and the staff would do everything in their power to save my dog's life.

The resort itself is on a ranch, so your dog is going to be getting plenty of outdoor time with other animals besides dogs. The kennel itself is climate controlled and well insulated. The units are exceptionally large for your fur-baby, and the units are situated in such a way that when they're in their unit they're not able to see other dogs. What this means, to me, is that things are kept quieter than other kennels because fence aggression isn't as much of a factor when they're in their unit. If you have specific instructions for your dog (feeding, exercise, medication, etc.), they will follow the instructions to the letter.

While we were away on holiday, our main point of contact was Jennifer. I'm pretty sure she's the owner Without issue, Jennifer texted us updates and sent pictures and video on how our dog was doing. During that month, they were running a special and had complementary dog washing before pick up. Don't quote me on it, but I believe it's a $10 add-on?

On pick-up day, one of the staff handed us everything that we gave them for our dog's stay (bed, toys, leftover food), and they gave us a literal report card of how our dog did while he was there. Apparently my dog loved staying there so much that when I loaded him into the car, he jumped right back out to say goodbye to the staffer!!! 😂🤣 That alone told me everything I needed to know about the level of care and FUN my dog received during his stay

Jake's K9 Retreat is a fabulous place to board your dog! Attractive kennels and individual yards, plus your dogs get treated as if they were their own. You're also helping to give back to dog rescue, as they operate a rescue on the same property (separate facility.)
