You will quickly learn that Carly’s life passion is helping dogs (and their owners) to lead their best, most fulfilling lives. I have been through training classes with her multiple times and have learned so much valuable and literally life changing information. Carly has a wealth of knowledge about dog behavior and I believe a special gift in dealing with dogs. Carly’s straightforward approach and detailed explanations of, not only training technique, but also the reasons behind them leaves you with such a great understanding of your dog and your role in their lives. To say my dogs’ behavior has improved after training with Carly is an understatement. My dogs have become so much better behaved it’s true, but the most important part is that your dog is so much more balanced, stable and confident after going through training. Carly’s approach enables you to have a better, more enjoyable, and closer relationship with your dog and enables your dog to have a much fuller, happier, and more fulfilling life. I cannot recommend High Drive Dog Company enough!

Carly is the best there is. Her communication style is direct and stern but it’s because she cares about dogs and doesn’t want them to fail. If you do the work your dog will make leaps and bounds in their skills, control and confidence.

I read some of the other reviews about Carly and High Drive; and there are a couple of things to point out.
Is she vocal? Yes.
Will she call you out if you mess up? Yes.
Does she want the best for your dog? 100%
Did she change my dog’s life for the better? 100%.

I took my 4 year old beagle through both the foundations and the advanced classes, as well as the e-collar training, the foundations was great because it really gave me the basis I needed and didn’t have to train my dog, the advanced class was more hands hand, taught me the techniques, and gave me the time to practice them.

My dog was bad, she was hard to manage, ran around the neighborhood, got on tables, and now she is a totally different dog. I am so greatful for High Drive and the information that I got from these two classes. I really can’t say enough about how much I got from these classes.

LISTEN Carly knows what she is doing. She understands dogs behaviors and how they learn best. She brakes it down in a way that the humans can understand. AND IT WORKS! My husband and I questioned some of her tactics at first because they aren't all warm and gooshy hugs, but we stuck with it and our dog, Hebe, learned so fast and is 90% trained at 11 months of age. Hebe is a giant breed dog and it is important to me that she is well behaved so that she doesn't hurt anyone, including my 2 yo at home and Carly was able to help me work through all these things with 100% success. Carly is a confident, caring, down to earth individual that can be quite prickly when trying to get her points across because she doesn't feed into your doubt and sees right through your excuses as to why your dog is they way it is. At the end of the day, she WANTS to see you succeed and your dogs to live a happy and confident life among the humans and other dogs of this earth. I'm a strong believer that our dogs should be able to go with us everywhere like family, without fear of how they will behave and Carly teaches you how to get a dog to do just that. Carly may not be all unicorns and rainbows but she will help you and your dog live HAPPILY EVER AFTER!

I am so incredibly grateful for Carly and High Drive for all the help they provided me with training my dog, Duck. I am a first time dog owner and was in a little over my head with training an extremely high energy golden retriever puppy. I constantly watched training videos and even spent two months going to another trainer with traditional "positive reinforcement only" philosophies. None of this helped. My dog got labeled as the class clown in that class and the trainer was useless in giving me any tips to training an energetic dog. As Duck got older and bigger his energy started to become more chaotic and dangerous in the form of attacking me and my brother-in-law on walks to the point of scarring and bruising us, pantsing my finace's sister, ripping clothes, refusing to leave dog parks when called, and pulling so hard on walks that he was putting himself in danger. I happened to come across High Drive right around the peak of these problems and saw the website talk about fixing the kind of problems that I am describing. Once starting classes, his behavior began to improve within the first 2 weeks. Carly understands dogs more than anyone I've ever met and helps teach you the science behind how dogs think. Anyone deterred by the idea of "balanced training" does not understand the way that dogs learn. After completing the basic training and advanced class, I now have a dog that listens to my every word and constantly impresses other dog owners. Duck has so much more freedom now with being able to go on hikes off leash, walk calmly past other dogs and people, sit still at restaurants, and come when I call him the first time, every time. I never had a bad dog, I just simply wasn't communicating with him in a way that he understands. Carly will teach you how to communicate with your dog and you can have a dog that will be everything that you ever wanted out of a dog. High drive is a world class training facility and I cannot recommend them enough.

The only thing I hate about this place is that I didn’t find it sooner. I’ve spent probably thousands of dollars on training for my drivey dog and none of it worked. Carly is a dog magician, in our first week we already saw night and day. Carly is always available and open to help. She will always meet you where you are at. I love this place and will be taking all my future dogs here. Love them

Yet another owner of a low-confidence Cattle Dog who has seen great results so far, and we're only halfway through the program. The day care services have also made a big difference, highly recommend doing both. Learning how to better communicate with our dog has greatly improved our daily lives together.

I would recommend High Drive and Carly to anyone who is serious about improving their pets confidence, stability, and over all wellbeing. While some owners are looking to just learn basic commands such as 'sit and down', others might have more intricate issues that they are looking to resolve. You might not think problems such as jumping on the counter, dashing open gates, or rushing the door when strangers come into the house are 'fixable' with group training classes... But Carly's training stratagies cover all of the bases with generalized methods that can be used in countless scenarios you might find you and your pet in. She does touch on basic topics such as sit and down and the proper ways to teach them, but the other topics she teaches are far more in depth and applicable for you and your pets' daily activities. If you are a low confidence human, you might not be the best fit for Carly's way of teaching. There is no room for sensitivity if you want results. If you are going to get offended when Carly does her job by giving you or your pet corrections and actually teaching, what you signed up for, then spend your time and money at a PetSmart class learning 'sit'. You are paying to get results and you need to be prepared that it isn't going to be all rainbows and unicorns. As a dog boarding kennel owner myself, I know that Carly and her team deal with a lot of coddled dog parents on a daily who may think that their pet is the best and the only dog the team is working with, as the negative reviews may show. Carly has specific directions that simply need to be followed, to run a smooth operation to be beneficiary for YOUR pet. If you don't feel comfortable following rules and are going to get upset when they can't comply to all of your needs, don't bring your pet to their facility. Keep in mind they are working with 50+ dogs and may not be able to drop everything to give you a tour through their facility. As a whole, Carly has somehow taught me simple training methods that help with all of my dog's issues and any potential issues that might arrise in the future. If you have the commitment to wanting to better your pet, then Carly will be the one to give you and your dog that confidence and stability that will last a lifetime.
