We had a sudden death in the family and had to drive halfway across the country on a last minute trip. We had just gotten a kitten a couple months prior, and he was not quite ready to be left home with someone coming by to check on him daily. Happy Trails was recommended by our vet as a possible boarding solution. When I called, they were very polite and understanding. They made the process easy and were to accommodate us on a last minute notice. While there, he received very good care. Prices were also very reasonable. Highly recommend!

We started boarding our dogs here after the other kennel we used ignored the fact that our dog became extremely ill while boarded. She was never the same and that event started a downhill spiral until we lost her. We tried a few other kennels around town until we settled on Happy Trails. They were amazing with our dog with health issues before she passed administering her meds and making sure she was stable in their care. Our other dog Beau has stayed several times up to a few weeks and always comes home happy and healthy! He gets so excited when we drop him off and never hesitates to go to the staff. He was sad and scared at the other kennels that we have tried in the past. During his most recent stay (July 2024) staff noted that he was having stomach issues and not acting like himself at all. The manager, Cye contacted us very concerned that he needed to be seen by a vet and given we were across the country on vacation took him in for us. It turned out he was having a colitis attack and needed IV antibiotics over night. Cye went back to the pet hospital on the way home on the 4th of July to check on Beau and make sure he was ok!!! Once Beau was released Cye picked him up and texted us daily sending pictures to give us peace of mind. Cye kept us fully informed for the remainder of our trip even on days off! The staff followed all discharge instructions from the vet and gave Beau one on one attention and love the remainder of his stay. We asked Cye if we should return early from vacation and with no hesitation we were assured that Beau would be in the best care until our planned return. We are overly cautious with Beau after losing his sister and Cye and the staff went above and beyond to make sure he was ok and healthy when we returned. We cannot thank them enough!

My dog Penny absolutely loves Happy Trails! She is a one year old puppy and always comes home tired. Since I work from home they are a life saver for me too. The staff is super friendly. I would highly recommend checking them out.

My three golden retrievers love going to Happy Trails! They are always so excited when we arrive and don't even look back at me when they go to their kennels. The staff is the BEST! They love on my fur-babies and really seem to love what they do. I appreciate the cameras they have so I can see how my babies are doing. It really gives me piece of mind, especially when I have to leave them for extended stays. I have been a customer of Happy Trails for years and can't imagine bringing my precious fur balls anywhere else!

UPDATE: 2 MONTHS after I first left this review, I get a phone call in the middle of the day from "Jim the owner of Happy Trails" threatening to "sue me for slander, and I've already contacted my lawyer!" Instead of reaching out to address my concerns with his business, he starts threatening me! Sounds like a great small business owner, who really cares about his customers and their experiences. Avoid this place and its staff at all costs!

ORIGINAL POST: Hands down the WORST facility I have ever experienced. My dog went there for daycare 3x a week for 2 months while I was at work. I originally chose them because they advertised that they have webcams so I could keep an eye on my little monster all day. Well come to find out that the webcams are always down, and they had no plans of fixing them. Doctor was always so excited to see me when I came to pick him up, and at first I thought it was because he wanted to go home and sleep!

Then the fateful day that the webcams went back up... I started watching Doctor at about 9am. I watched him sit in a kennel until 4pm. His water bowl was never refilled, he was never brought outside to play, the only interaction that he had with the staff is when they would kick the door of his kennel. After being stuck in a small kennel all day, he had a little accident (totally understandable) what was not understandable was the staff beating my dog for having an accident!!

I called 5 different times during the day to see how he was doing, and to ask when he would have playtime. I was lied to EVERY SINGLE TIME. The staff told me that he had just come in from playtime, and was so happy to be there!

When I picked him up, I showed the 'owner' the videos I had saved of how his staff was treating my dog, including the video of his staff beating my dog. He accused me of 'faking' it and that he 'knows how to treat a dog'

I will NEVER go back here, and I would not be surprised if every employee there is arrested on FELONY ANIMAL ABUSE CHARGES.

DO NOT TAKE YOUR ANIMALS HERE.

We now go to Dog's Own in Loveland. They are phenomenal and actually care about animals! I've attached a picture of my puppy for everyone to enjoy!

LOOK NO FURTHER!! Happy Trails Pet Spa is fantastic. My dog started going there when I relocated to the area, there was much hesitation on both our behalf. The staff is beyond kind, helpful,
experienced. My dog is always excited to go visit. Happy Trails offers several options to fine tune your pet's experience.. You can have as much, or as little pampering as you need. Olivia is my "go to animal advice" person! She is professional, an excellent communicator, and very friendly.

Called to see about grooming for my dog. Just moved to Milliken and came to Colorado recently. Don't have my dog's vaccinations records and he is older(12-14 years old) spoke with Cy, Psy, not sure how to spell his name. Was a bit condescending about the vaccine records. And sarcastically said good luck getting your dog groomed in Colorado. Wouldn't take my dog here with that attitude towards a new customer.

We had a great experience bringing our dog here. Staff was helpful and friendly. They asked plenty of questions to make sure my dog was set up for a positive boarding experience. Despite the rain this facility makes sure dogs are exercised and given enrichment. *I was compensated a treat for my dog for leaving a review. However, I was already prepared to pay for the enrichment treat before I knew this. I wouldn’t leave a positive review if we didn’t have a positive experience.
