After two weeks at Happy Tails Dog Training with amazing GSL alum Sophie Thomas and her equally amazing co-trainer Rachel, I can finally communicate w this guy. Walks are pleasant! He doesn’t jump all over people. He comes when called. He finds his place and stays there. He found his chill. ? The ?is now in full, brilliant ? mode. Freakin’ miracle.

Can not say enough about Happy Tails Dog Training. Our very excitable 8 month golden retriever needed manners and a calmer state of mind. They did a great job. Sophie, Rachel and Mack were very dedicated not only helping Buddy, but us as well!

I have a nervy, anxious Dalmatian. I initially contacted Sophie to do a board and train and then last minute asked if we could switch to private lessons. She was so accommodating and nice about the last minute switch. I can only imagine how hard it is to run a small business and her flexibility was so appreciated!! I have enjoyed working with her- in our first few meetings, she has shown us how to practice boundaries in the home, how to use yes to mark positive and good behaviors, and how to walk properly on leash.

I am so pleased with the progress so far- 5 months ago I would have had to kennel Dixie when we had workers over. Recently I was able to practice Dixie’s manners on leash around my home and backyard while strangers were loudly doing construction. I was so happy with Dixie’s ability to focus on me with all of the new distractions. She safely observed the new sights and people. It was so much less stressful than trying to manage the barking maniac dixie was prior!! The structures and skills Sophie laid out for me really helped me to set my dog up for success.

I am looking forward to fine tuning a few skills- Sophie is giving me the freedom to really enjoy my dog again!!

Had our go home training session with Finn this evening! Such a good boy! So happy to see his growth and progress both in size and obedience.

Sophie was very professional and knowledgeable about dogs and their training. She gave me verbal directions as well as modeling the correct way to handle my dog. Sophie then had me practice the correct way to handle my dog and since it was my first time with my dog while training we practiced till perfection if needed. My dog did so well and am so happy with his obedience training.

I had taught him small things like sit and down before training and sent him to the puppy program at 20 weeks old. Before the program he would comply with my demands though would not sit or stay down very long. After the program he learned to place, come, and was able to sit and lay down even if I was standing multiple feet away and not holding his leash until I instructed him to be free from commands.

I’m so happy I chose happy tails dog training to send my puppy to help with his foundational teaching. I am a full time teacher and graduate student with a toddler and husband who is busy also. If you need help with training or don’t have as much time to train I definitely recommend this program to learn how to work with your dog.

I recently used Happy Tails to help with training my puppy, and let me just say she is amazing! I ended up doing her puppy 101 program and the 2 week board and train program to continue working on my puppy’s skills. Both programs were awesome and I’m very happy with how they train at Happy Tails! When my puppy came home from the board and train program it was like he was a completely different dog, I couldn’t believe it. I was very nervous to send my puppy to the board and train program (as any dog parent would be), but the entire time he was there Sophie was constantly sending me pictures and texts about his progress and how he was doing, it made me very happy to see that my baby was being taken care of so well. Definitely worth the money and I highly recommend Happy Tails Dog Training

We are so pleased with Oakley’s progress. Sophie is definitely a dog-whisperer. Not only did she identify and make great progress with Oakley’s issues, but she taught us how to continue the work at home. He’s a new dog!

Happy Tails Dog Training did amazing work with our Chevy. She was with Sophie for two weeks and is a completely different dog. Chevy is a Cane Corso that thought she was a lap dog before training. She is now calm and realizes her size. She no longer jumps and knocks people down, she doesn't pull when she goes on walks. She listens and is deciding on the appropriate action to different situations. We are so pleased with everything Sophie taught her!

I wish there was an above 5 rating for this program, this team, and Sophie! my boykin spaniel attended the 2 week remote training program, and to say she is a completely different dog is truly an understand. if you have a hyperactive puppy like mine or better yet, any dog at any stage in life - this team will relieve all of your stress and make life so much more enjoyable with your companion! feel free to message me personally with any questions that you have if you are considering choosing happy tails (p.s. you would be crazy not to)! and if you’re worried about your dog being away/not getting the care and affection they get at home, I can promise you, this team treated my baby like she was their own!! never once did I worry about her - I promise your baby will be in the best hands!!!!!!!!
