Tanya is the BEST trainer in Denver. I adopted a 7 year old yorkie with severe anxiety, potty training issues and behavioral problems. I hired another trainer before Tanya and didn’t see any results with them. The potty training issues were the biggest thing that I wanted help with because I tried EVERYTHING: potty pads, crates, grass pads, medication, and even a dog litter box. Ruby’s potty training issues were not only messy but very frustrating for me. I’m got to a point where I thought I was just going to have to deal with it. I was unsure if we would see results because of how bad Ruby’s anxiety is and she isn’t super food motivated but I am so glad I decided to work with Tanya. She helped me build her confidence while working within her comfort zone and helped come up with strategies that challenged her but also wasn’t too far out of her comfort zone, she worked with her anxiety, not against it. Fast forward 6 sessions later and Ruby rarely has accidents, knows how to confidently greet people, has decreased separation anxiety, knows commands and is even using a potty bell! Not only is Tanya an incredible trainer but a wonderful human who truly cares about your success. She was always available to answer any questions and sent thorough follow up notes. Ruby and I cant thank you enough for all you’ve done for us you’ve truly given us back so much freedom!

Tanya is the best! Shortly after I adopted Koda he started showing signs of separation anxiety and leash reactivity. I purchased a 9 session package to focus on Koda’s separation anxiety. He use to bark and whine the second I stepped foot outside and would continue for hours. After working with Tanya, Koda’s separation anxiety improved significantly. He may whine once or twice when I leave, but he calms down quickly.

About a year later I purchased a 6 session package to focus on Koda’s leash reactivity. Koda’s leash reactivity is better, but there is there is still room for improvement. That being said, Tanya provided me with the tools I need to continue training myself. I’m confident that if I continue training myself his leash reactivity will continue to improve.

I've had my blue heeler for nearly 3 years. She was reactive, often lunging at cars/people/other dogs. I talked to our vet about it and they recommended Family Pupz. With Tanya's help Tuna totally turned it around. She is less reactive, can pass dogs + people without barking/lunging and just seems overall less anxious. I can't recommend Tanya enough. She is SO knowledgeable and takes things as slow as we need. Highly highly recommend!!

I highly recommend Tanya for all of your dog training needs! She has been incredibly helpful for us and was always so supportive, empathetic, and encouraging. She follows up every session with very detailed notes and sometimes videos, so I always felt set up for success practicing the training on my own. Tanya helped us work with our dog Finn on barking at the window and some anxiety he had around vet procedures. We made huge progress thanks to Tanya! Finn absolutely loved Tanya as well – she had a very calming and confident presence and he was always so excited when she came over for training days.

We’ve had several sessions with Tanya for our fearful dog and she’s amazing. Even during our consultation session I was left impressed with her knowledge and professionalism compared to other trainers we’ve worked with or talked to. Very happy we found her!

I absolutely recommend Tanya and FamilyPupz!!! She’s a very responsive and dedicated trainer, who follows up each session with comprehensive notes (and sometimes with attached videos she takes during the session) so you can properly continue to train alone. She is incredibly knowledgeable and so good with my dog. With her positive training style, qualifications, experience and personality, she would be great for any kind of training, from basic training to more complex dog issues, like mine.
Tanya was recommended by my vet because of my dog’s fear issues. I’ve had four other dogs in my life and have never experienced anything like my dog’s fear issues and complete mistrust of men. Based on her behavior I knew if I didn’t change this, she may eventually bite somebody. I’ve trained all my other dogs, but solving this was way above my pay grade so I knew I needed a professional. Tanya has met and exceeded my expectations. Every session is eye-opening and effective because my dog is already doing better with new people in her house, including men!
Tanya is showing me, by the progress my dog is making through training, that there is hope for my dog to be relaxed and calm around strangers. Tanya truly is amazing!
