Average but clean. Just wish all the stuff worked in the room. Shower had an issue forcing the water up the shower head. Stopper in sink was broken. Bed was comfy though.

The desk clerk was rude. I paid $207 for a room from 5 am to 930 am. The room was "non-smoking" but smelt like an ashtray. The ceiling in the bathroom was falling down. The tile around the tub was molded, cracked and desperately needed replacement. Not a good choice!

Because of what I had seen on some reviews, I was reluctant to book, but thought I would take a flyer. Turned out it was just fine. If you want the Hilton, go pay Hilton prices This place is decent price point. We had no issues staying here. Safe environment. On the beaten track, it’s easy to find. The room was clean. It’s roomy and the furniture is a little dated, but kept up and clean. The bed was super comfy. Had a good nights sleep. We ran the fan for noise buffer because of being near a busy corner. Wi-Fi was great. You can see they are slowly making improvements. Regarding insects.. we only saw 1 fly. Good selection at breakfast. However, on the negative side. I was disappointed to find our room window was dirty, so went and asked reception for cleaning supplies and cleaned it myself. All was good! Would stay again.

Had an amazing experience with staff, booked and paid online through vio and when we came to check in there were some issues confirming payment, staff was so nice and compassionate doing everything they could to help us. Took down information to contact who we booked through to figure out the payment confirmation issue and let us get the room we booked. The room is nice, comfortable and clean. 10/10 would recommend this place to anyone driving through looking for somewhere to stay Dalhart. Have stayed at several hotels on our drive and the hospitality here is unmatched to anywhere else we’ve been.

(BACK TO EDIT) first experience with staff was amazing second experience with staff awful, the second or third shift front desk guy (big, old, white guy with glasses) seemed extremely bothered and acted like he didn’t believe we had a room. Went out to the car to grab some things came back up and key didn’t work so had to go down to office, when we walked in he was on the phone and seemed extremely annoyed that he had to hang up told him we went to grab things and the key didn’t work to get back in, he INSTANTLY started saying something about check out time and when I told him we just checked in today without looking anything up he gave me an extremely dirty look with an attitude and seemed like he didn’t believe me. he fixed the key and we came back to the room but I would not recommend dealing with him he’s extremely rude with no customer service skills.

We stopped to get the motel in our way to Nebraska. Breakfast was excellent but the eating area was not spacious. We were bumping elbow to elbow with the other people. The room had a lot of flies; I had to spend 1 hr. to kill all the flies with the fly swatter (Fly swatter was one of the tools provided in the drawer.) I probably killed 15 flies in the room. The Mexican restaurant next door had good food but the waiting time to get the food took forever (30min.). The room smelled horrible. Loud noises outside after 10pm. We paid $123.18 for 1 night.

Worst place I’ve ever tried to sleep at.
Flies were everywhere, there was blood on the lampshade, bathroom light did not work, something was smeared on the TV. It’s right next to the train tracks. Loud people in the parking lot. When trying to sleep the flies land on you and there are other various bugs crawling out of the lights and doors. The AC just blows air. There were random things left behind from the previous occupants so it’s obvious that the place had not been cleaned.
