I could write a novel about the way this location treated my dog and me, but what it comes down to is as follows:

1. These are not dog people
2. They have a hard time staffing, even at the low level of service they do provide - the rotating door of staff makes it so you don't really know what's going on with your pet or if the person you're working with understands how to work with dogs
3. The staff they do have will not always give you updates on the correct dog (long story short, I was on vacation and on the phone with Dogtopia at 1am only to find out my dog was NOT actually in a fight, something they had misreported on)
4. Picking up your dog and asking how they were that day will be met with blank stares and open mouths from the front desk workers, who seem shocked you may want to know if your dog is doing well or not
5. If your dog is not an "easy" dog (high energy, jumps, etc.) then they have no place at Dogtopia, where it's about cramming as many dogs as you can into one room with the lowest amount of effort required.
6. If you ask to view any video tapes of incidents that they claim your dog was a part of, they will tell you to get an attorney. I was also told that I was the only one who had ever asked to view a tape, "everyone else just trusts us" is what the GM said. If you read more reviews on Yelp, you'll see this track record of miscommunication and mistrust is prevalent with management here, no matter how many times they try to dismiss you because you're just not trusting them enough...

It wasn't until my dog was dismissed after a year that I really took a step back to look at what the competition in the area offers! There are so many wonderful places that don't treat you and your dog like a dollar sign! It was a blessing that we were forced to expand our horizons, my dog who is high energy is already well loved and attended for at his new daycare. I get daily updates, a report card, and I can tell I'm working with dog people when I drop him off.

If you left Dogtopia feeling like your dog is too much, I'm sorry they made you feel that way - there are places that will show your pet the effort they deserve WHILE communicating to you.

Could not be happier with the kind staff at Dogtopia! Every week at day care drop off Sky is greeted with so much love and positive energy; they treat her like she is their own dog.

We have also used Dogtopia for boarding and have been very pleased with their service and know that Sky is in incredible hands and have no worries while we are away!

I've been taking my dog Rossi to Dogtopia for quite some time now, and I couldn't be happier with the experience. From the moment we walk through the door, it feels like Rossi is royalty there. Every staff member knows Rossi by name, and it's clear they genuinely care about him. Kathy, the manager, always greets us with such enthusiasm, exclaiming "Rossi's back!" which signals to the other workers that their favorite guest has arrived.

It's not just Kathy; the entire team at Dogtopia treats Rossi like family. Every drop-off feels like a reunion of friends, and Rossi's excitement is palpable as he eagerly trots off with the staff. I've tried other dog daycare and boarding places, but none come close to the warmth and care provided by this specific Dogtopia location.

Not only is Rossi thrilled to spend his days there, but I've also had him boarded overnight on several occasions. Each time, I've had complete peace of mind knowing he's in the best hands. To top it all off, they even give him a free bath before I pick him up, ensuring he comes home looking and smelling great.

I highly recommend Dogtopia to any pet owner looking for a place where their dog will be treated with love and care. Rossi and I are grateful to have found such a wonderful place!

I've been coming to Dogtopia in Downers Grove for ~6 months for grooming. Jackie is no-contest the best groomer I've worked with over the past ~20 years (with multiple cocker spaniels over that time period). Her work with my (now very) senior pup is always exceptional, including work around some special aging circumstances with him. I can't recommend Dogtopia, and Jackie in particular, more highly.

Traveled to Chicago for a wedding, I am familiar with Dogtopias and chose this one because I knew what to expect- and wow! I was not disappointed. Dogtopia of Downers Grove felt like my pup's home away from home! If I lived in this area, I would be taking Rand there all the time. It's a very large facility and the staff were very nice!

We love the friendly service, and ability to update our dog’s profile with vaccination records so easily. Jackie was our groomer prior to her working with Dogtopia, and we are lucky she has been able to work at a location closer to us in the Southwest suburbs.

We love Dogtopia of DG! The staff are so friendly and attentive—they always notify me of any health issues they notice with my dog, which shows me they’re really paying attention to the dogs. I love the extra touches that other daycares we’ve used don’t do—lunchtime snacks, bubble catching, and themed days. Our dog loves going to Dogtopia!
