Carmel is amazing. His background is impressive and my husband and I learned so much while he trained us to train our dog. He has such a calm demeanor that it really put us at ease during this process. Our frenchie Ronin really took to the training and we're so grateful. He's learning to curb his anxiety and trust in us again. Highly recommend Carmel for all of your dog's training needs.

I'm so glad that we did the board and train three week program with Carmel. We got Roxy from the rescue and we were told that she was somewhere between 2-3 years old. We didn't know much about Roxy's history for this reason other than her name was Roxy since she was microchipped. Despite the shelter finding her and calling the number on file, the calls from the prior owner were never returned.

We knew after getting her that we needed some help because on walks she was hyper alert, would pull a lot, had a strong prey drive (particularly when it came to cats and squirrels), would "go crazy" when she saw other dogs, and would sometimes jump on me on walks (which was very awkward and embarrassing to have happen in public). Carmel helped Roxy get some much needed socialization time during the board and train and I loved getting videos of her playing with other dogs. He has a calm, confident, and consistent approach, which was perfect for Roxy. He really helped make walks with her manageable and taught her several different commands. He was great at teaching us the commands he taught Roxy and we are grateful for all the support and he provided us! We are so grateful to have found Carmel at Dog Mind and for the dog training he provided to Roxy!

Through training & education, Carmel provided the missing piece in my relationship with my dog Mēka. In just a few sessions, he established strong basic training & helped me understand the relationship my dog needed from me. I now have a companion who listens, responds & craves my leadership. I feel great & she feels great! I can’t emphasize how important & seamless this training relationship can be with your animal, if you have the right trainer. The knowledge I gained from my sessions with Carmel made everything make sense & I now have a much deeper connection with my animal.

I highly recommend Carmel. He is patient and consistent in his training, and his calm and confident demeanor as a dog-handler served as a great model for how to be a good leader for my dog, Jazz.

I turned to Carmel after years of struggling with Jazz’s fear aggression/reactivity toward other dogs. Both she and I had unknowingly learned to live with dog avoidance and shared anxiety. Despite trying a plethora of training methods and consulting several trainers, both in-person and online, I couldn’t achieve consistency in building her confidence or mine.

Carmel helped me see first-hand the unwarranted fear Jazz was experiencing and the subsequent aggressive behavior that she exhibited as her way of coping. He also made me aware of my high-level of anxiety and how I inadvertently alerted her every time we saw a dog.

We worked with Carmel one-on-one and within the first couple of sessions the transformation had begun. He taught me how to communicate with the leash, how to heel Jazz correctly, and how to instill basic obedience skills in her. Having Carmel with us during our walks and a variety of dog-on-dog interactions was key to my understanding how to lead Jazz with self-assurance.

Carmel was available for tips and assistance outside of our scheduled sessions which was a great help. I will continue to rely on him for any additional training needs. Jazz now finally enjoys her walks, sniffing and exploring to her heart’s content, and I can finally enjoy taking our long walks and visiting dog-friendly shops and restaurants together.

Thank you, Carmel!

I am so happy we made the decision to have Carmel work with Brodie, I dont know where to start. We got Brodie from a rescue and didn't know a lot about his history. After spending the first week with him we knew he needed some help with his behavior. He wanted to see other dogs, but would go crazy when he was around them. He had some very basic training, but very little manners. Because he was 3 years old we knew professional help would be the best route. I never expected the amazing results we got. Carmel has a gift. He taught us how to handle situations and how to correct them. He also took the time to reinforce these commands with Brodie. He really takes the dog to heart and goes above and beyond to make sure the dog is the first priority. After 8 sessions we had a totally different dog. Carmel was able to see Brodie was not well socialized and recommended him for daycare. This made the biggest difference. From his first day he made improvements. We now have a very well behaved off leash dog that we can enjoy hiking, camping, socializing and more. He has truly canged our lives with Brodie. I cant wait to see how he grows and learns to love his new life.

I came to DOGMIND at a desperate time with my dog, after she attacked another dog, and came out full of hope and confidence as a dog owner, with a whole new relationship with my dog and self. Carmel is so professional, and treated my dog as a unique case, and as he got to know her better with each session, he helped me get to know and understand her better too . I always wanted to be one of those people who walked down the street with ease, with a dog not pulling on the leash, and DOGMIND trained me to be one of those people! I cannot be more grateful for Carmel and the time, education and training be gave us. I had been to 3 other trainers over the years before him, and he is the only one who I left the training feeling more confident, skilled and equipped to be the right dog owner for my girl.

There are no words to describe the change we have seen with our dog Dante. If my husband and I were not there every training session I would NOT believe he's the same dog. I would have thought "Carmel switched our dog!" lol Dante is a 110 pounds and would go NUTS when he saw other dogs. Just a heads up, Carmel might be the best trainer ever, but if you don't put in the work yourself, your dog will not change. Till this day we still train Dante at least 5 days a week to keep it consistent with his anxiety. I couldn't even go hiking with Dante before. He is now living his best life 🙂
