This week, there was a shocking incident at the fair when someone opened fire, leaving many attendees shaken and feeling unsafe in what is usually a joyful family atmosphere. The sound of laughter and excitement has been overshadowed by fear, making it hard to enjoy the festivities. Additionally, the cost of ride tickets and concessions at the fair has skyrocketed, making it a pricey outing for families looking to have a good time. The combination of safety concerns and steep prices has truly altered the experience for everyone involved.

Free fall fair was fun. Concert, horse pulls and a lot of very expensive food vendors but very few rides.

The band Restless Heart was awesome wed sept 26th 2018 at dekalb fair

Just watched the band LONESTAR preform wed Sept. 24th 2025 at the Dekalb Fair. Amazing concert. The area was filled from front to back and side to side with fan enjoying the concert. Overflow of people out to the streets as well. And everyone stayed time the very end. GREAT night had by all. Wonderful band!!! Even had the opportunity to meet two of the band members after the oncerts conclusion. Very cool experience.

No gate fee!!! Friendly staff, a multitude of things to do for the kids!!! Live bands, an industrial tent a quarter mile long. Great food for everyone!!! Right on the courthouse square. Good time of year to go, hoodie weather, so it's not scorching hot out!!!

We came here for a Scouting America event. We had a good time, even though we had to park on the street due to the off-street parking already being full

We spend too much money, but it's always a fun time when we go. We enjoy seeing the animals, eating unhealthy food, and playing the overpriced games. 😂
