I signed up for dog training with Daughterty Dog training and followed all her instructions. I showed up early, paid $200 cash, let them charge me an additional $32 for a rope and chain that I could have brought with me if she specified the one she wanted us to have. She initially started yelling to the group and cussing at us. She was saying the first night examples of bad clients and being very derogatory about people. She started yelling at me one time the first night because I was supposed to turn and go the other way than my dog and I was confused about when to turn around. Ryan got yelled at for whispering to me while she was talking.

The second week she became a bully towards me she yelled at me two times. The first time was, "You better keep your hands together and not touch the rope with your right hand or I am going to come over there and tie them together with a rope my f'ing self" "You better pay attention and do it right because your stupidity is wasting class time". I think you get the idea. It was horrible and no way to treat someone that paid you $200. I no longer recommend Daughterty Dog training.

I have trained dogs for over 20 years. I have tried many of the fads including clicker training and rewarding with food. I have not found a more effective and humane way of training than Daugherty Dog Training. It teaches both the owner and the dog to think and creates a strong bond. The dogs I see coming out of the class are better trained than some of the dogs I trained using food. And that is in 10 weeks as compared to a year with food. My border collie came away with a can do attitude and a wagging tail. I saw aggressive and shy dogs turned around with the knowledge and caring shown by Lin and Megan. Great class.

My husband and I have used this method for 40 years and we were so happy to find out about Lin and Megan's training class. They are both very knowledgeable and care deeply about the animals. We have taken 4 dogs through the class and our Family has taken an additional 6. It's a terrific program and taught all of us information we didn't get out of the Koehler Method book alone. PLUS working our not so "other dog" friendly pup with other dogs was the best way to gain confidence and knowledge in how to handle him. Nothing about this training is abusive or mean to the animals. We tell everyone about this class and our friends that have taken their pups were very happy as well.

Best class ever! Completely changed my relationship with my dog! Half way through the class I realized I had already got so much more than expected from this great class. I work in a care home and had tried taking my dog to work a couple times with me but it didn’t go as well as I needed it to. After the 6 th week of this class I tried again and now my dog is welcome at the facility at any time. She has a new confidence and is not scared of our residents. Not only does she obey all commands she got the exposure needed to get over her insecurity- thank you Megan! Great trainer- thank you Lyn- great class!
I will be back in the fall with another dog!

Daugherty Dog Training is hands down the best place to train your dog. My dog Rooney was terrified of everything and his fear led to aggression. Other trainers would not accept my dog through their courses. I brought Rooney to Daugherty Dog Training and he was accepted. We worked hard for two sessions (a total of 20 weeks) and never shied away from Rooney's problems. At the end of the 20 weeks, Rooney was around other dogs and people without a muzzle, we could walk right next to other dogs without him lunging, he allowed for other people to examine him, and he trusts me as his handler. If you are willing to put in the work, then this is definitely the best place to train yourself and your dog.

Nothing beats Megan and Lin's obedience training. They can bring any dog from a zero to a hero. They taught my dog how to socialize, and behave around other dogs in an amazing, humane, and fun way for the dogs. My pup is nothing but smiles with a wagging tail. Thank you Megan and Lin!

I had signed up my lab and paid the $200 class fee. The day of the first class my father was in the hospital not expected to live. I called Lynn explained my situation. My father passed away. This devastated me and my family. I was not able to attend any of the classes. I wanted to request my $200 I called and left a message, called again and spoke to Lynn. Her response to me was “I don’t give refunds!” I asked her even if there was a death in the family and I didn’t attend any of the classes. She said “ No Refunds!”. I was not told No Refunds but even if I was I would hope any person would have compassion and understanding due to a death. I would not recommend this obedience training. They are very cold and have no compassion.

Are they tough? Darn right they are, and you will end up with a well trained dog because of their technics. Megan and Lin know their stuff!!
