I strongly recommend looking elsewhere for veterinary care in Waco. Cottonwood Vet has repeatedly shown me that their priority is collecting fees, not truly caring for animals or their owners.

My first experience was with a bull terrier puppy who became sick. I brought her in, and they tested her for parvo — it came back negative. They charged me for that visit and sent me home with medication. But she continued to get worse, so I brought her back. That time, they made me wait in my car and retested her — suddenly, the test came back positive. She was boarded there, became even sicker, and eventually passed away. Later they told me she also had distemper.

That was heartbreaking, but I gave them another chance when I got a new Aussiedoodle puppy two years later. Again, they rushed through the visit, gave him shots, and pushed heartworm medication — but then insisted I schedule another paid appointment just to adjust the dose.

Now, my dog is six months old and became sick again. I brought him back hoping they’d finally step up — but instead, they wanted to charge me an emergency fee just to see him, even though I was already there during business hours and waiting patiently like everyone else.

The staff acted nonchalant, didn’t seem to care about my dog, and barely spent any time with me in prior visits. Every interaction felt rushed and transactional — like I was just another dollar walking through the door.

This morning was the final straw. They wanted another $130 just to look at my sick dog, despite my history of visits and thousands spent there over time. I refused and drove all the way to Temple to see a vet who actually cares.

Bottom line: these people do not treat your pets like family — they treat them like business. If you care about your animals, I recommend finding a veterinarian who actually takes the time to care. I regret trusting Cottonwood and will never return.

I’m positive the owners don’t even look at this or read anyone’s reviews. They only care about the money. They don’t care about the animals because they actually cares theybe calling their client back. I don’t post anonymous reviews and I sure as heck hardly ever post something negative, but when it comes to somebody that I love, I will defend them. My puppies life is worth more than a dollar and I’m tired of people. I’m tired of them treating pets like this.

The Doc& assistant were great with my girl. She is a 50 lb, high energy rescue lab mix.
The were informative about vaccines, and were patient with my Phoebe.
5 stars all the way!! Thank you Cottonwood Creek staff for all you do!!

As some other reviews posted here. It seems to me like they are more worried about money than being honest with their customers about the state of their animals. I was fairly certain my dog was dying. And the more I think about it I think they were very certain he was too. While they did say it would be his best chance that they keep him overnight, I'm pretty sure he was in the process of dying on the exam table. I decided to take him for home care and he passed shortly after getting him home. I wouldn't recommend this clinic. At the very least I feel as though they weren't entirely honest about his current condition. And gave me hope that he could be treated when he most likely wouldn't have survived either way.

I really appreciate Cottonwood Creek. They have taking care of my Dobermans. I used to be very concerned with other vets. But not here. As a retired kennel owner. I know I can get the care for my dogs. Very pleased with the care I get for my dogs.

Everyone here is so sweet and kind. I took my sweet kitty because he was having issues going potty and he ended up having a blockage in his bladder. Dr.Natalie took very good care of him and I received daily updates on him. They were very accommodating when it came to pricing. They even have visiting hours on weekdays. I was very happy with the treatment and kindness me and my kitty received.

Great place! Staff are very helpful and sweet with your pups. They are also so patient with questions and my pups that did not want to cooperate with the booty thermometer 🤣. Definitely going to keep taking my pups here.
