Consistent K9 Training -

I took my very high energy and stubborn Labradoodle Teddy Bear to Nick with Consistent K9 at the end of last year. He was 7 months old. Nick is the most patient man to be able to handle my Esteban. Having Esteban listen to me now and follow my direction is nothing short of a miracle. (Stubborn!!) In the beginning, when I brought him home, I worked with him daily on the training I was taught by Nick. He did best while wearing the e-collar yet I really didn’t use it much. A few months later I only use the collar when friends come by or out on long walks. Presently, he is only 10 months old so he still has that puppy mentality and energy. A little tap from the collar and a vocal queue is a good reminder to keep it in check.

Nick was excellent providing me with text updates, along with pics and video on a weekly basis. Also, he would answer any and all of my questions throughout the entire training via phone calls. I felt quite comfortable leaving my boy with Nick and his family the entire time. Even though it was a hard decision, I knew this was the best course of action for my puppy. He is a different dog now, much more pleasant to have around.

I continue to work with Esteban weekly to keep him solid on his commands. Yet without the solid foundation he built with Nick, I know we wouldn’t be where we are at now. He’s a keeper, stubbornness and all!

Best trainer in town!!! I went through Nick’s puppy classes and advanced obedience classes with my German Shepherd, Goose. He helped me work through Goose’s reactivity and over stimulation around dogs and people and taught us so much. I have worked in the pet industry for years and have met many trainers, and Nick is the ONLY trainer I trust with my dogs! He has amazing dog skills and knowledge and truly loves and cares about dogs. His methods are fair and balanced and he is great with every breed from small dogs to big working dogs.

Odin is our 3rd German Shepherd so I thought I knew what to expect. I was wrong! He was a challenging puppy to say the least. It became too much when he was becoming aggressive with our older female. Nick was able to help us turn everything around, making him the best family therapist I could ask for. Working with Nick helped us to establish rules, structure, fairness, and discipline. It takes lots of work and repetition but we are so much further down the path to success. We now have fun with Odin and are proud to take him places. He gets along better with our other dog and generally seems happier to be with us. I'm so grateful for Nick. He is great with dogs but also focused on giving me the right foundation and tools, helping me set achievable weekly goals, setting expectations, and recognizing progress. All things that have strengthened our family. Nick is a great investment in helping your dog be the best version of themself (by learning to offer the best version of yourself). I highly recommend.

Absolutely would return to Consistent K9 and Nick for more training if I hadn’t moved 100+ miles away. I did the board and train and a couple months later signed up for in person classes to continue training. Nick not only laid the essential groundwork for my extremely hyper high anxiety GSD, but taught me how to work with her.

If I hadn’t gone to Nick when I did I’m almost 100% certain my GSD would be unmanageable for all but very experienced dog trainers/handlers.

I've had dogs my whole life but I've never seriously trained them. I've regretted that and this time around, I decided I would do some kind of real training, for both myself and my new dog (Husky/German Shepard mix, rescue from SSPCA).

I found Nick (ConsistentK9) online. He had a lot of experience and great reviews so I thought, let's do this! I signed up for the 10 week program.

Wow am I glad I did! Nick is a natural with dogs and makes it all look so easy, and with Mika being a high energy, smart, pushy pup, I thought Nick had his work cut out for him. Not for Nick. She loved him and responded well to him.

Just as important, Nick is also great with people and communicates very well, helping you learn and understand what you're doing (or not doing) without rubbing you the wrong way. He's great to work with and a real pleasure to learn from. The techniques and methods I learned for Nick are priceless! My program was not only about training Mika, but also me. The skills Nick taught me I will continue to use as I work with Mika over the next few months and years. I highly recommend Nick and Consistent K9!!

Our experience with Nick was great. I was at my wits end with our German Shepherd puppy, Rogue, when I met Nick. Rogue did a few personal trainings with Nick and then she did a month long Board & Train program.
Prior to the board and train program I was extremely close to rehoming her. I didn't know how to deal with her energy level and she was creating tons of chaos in our household. We've had Rogue back for a few weeks now and she is AMAZING. She listens, stays on her bed ("place") even when chaos is going on around her, and she is all around SO much better. I am incredibly grateful for Nick that we can now enjoy Rogue. Nick's training is worth every penny!!

Nick's trainings are wonderful and in our five sessions they resulted in meaningful change in our young Malinois/Heeler. He is caring about all his clients dogs and takes the time to understand your reasons for training, he provides multiple options for your set of lessons and makes sure to explain the reasoning for them. He often provides supporting videos and resources to help in your understanding.
Most importantly, Nick always made sure to provide homework to us, often checking in as to our progress, and letting us know that we could reach out if we had any questions. He is also very flexible with scheduling which was greatly appreciated for two working people.

Nick goes above and beyond and we truly look forward to continuing training with him.
