We recently completed 12 private obedience training sessions with Becky and Gueseppe from Companion Canine, and I couldn't be more thrilled with the results. I found them through Instagram and was immediately impressed by their approach to dog training.

Our dog received comprehensive obedience training, including learning to walk on a leash without pulling, mastering a place command (which we use all the time now), reducing demand-barking, and becoming more relaxed in fast-paced environments. The training took place both at our home and in Jacksonville, making it very convenient for us.

From the outset, Becky and Gueseppe worked closely with me to prioritize my goals for the training. They provided clear instructions and homework to practice between sessions, which was incredibly helpful. We learned effective low-stimulation leash techniques and e-collar techniques for off-leash training. As a result, our dog is now much better behaved, with his energy and attention directed toward desired behaviors.

One standout moment was our wedding, where Huckleberry was on his best behavior and stole the show with his playfulness and obedience. It was a testament to the incredible work done by Becky and Giuseppe.

The trainers were excellent communicators and maintained a high level of professionalism throughout the training sessions. I would very highly recommend Companion Canine to any dog owner. The training has truly changed our lives, allowing us to include Huckleberry in even more of our daily activities.

Companion Canine Dog Training has been life changing for my dog and I. Words cannot express how grateful I am for the services. Who says you cannot teach an old dog new tricks?! Becky and Gueseppe were able to teach my six year old stubborn hound how to be the best boy he could be. He has always been a good boy, but there was a big need for improvement in obedience when taking him out in public. One of the biggest goals I desired was the ability to safely and confidently walk my dog in a city and/or rural setting. Prior to training we spoke at length of short term and long term goals for my dog. I appreciated the clear communication and outline of the programs offered.

We started in the winter with one to one private classes. I appreciated the training, lessons and homework each week. I recognized positive changes not only in my pup, but also in my relationship with him and how we communicated.

With an extended trip out of the area, I decided to enroll my dog in the Board and Train offered by Companion Canine Dog Training. I knew he was in safe, loving hands with Becky and Gueseppe. Over the course of the board and train my dog built upon his obedience foundation further and learned new behaviors building his confidence. I appreciated the updates I received. Photo and video updates were shared with friends and family who expressed shock at the amazing progress made! When it was time for pick up, I felt empowered with the tools, education, and clarity on to how to continue my dog’s new positive behavior.

We are a testament that the programs and training provided works. The relationship between my dog and I is stronger than ever. A few weeks later my dog and I were able to stroll the streets of Portland safely and confidently. We have even been able to enjoy meals on dog friendly patios not only once but a few times with family and friends who keep asking “how?!” “are you sure this is the same dog?!” Haha! I can tell he is excited to go on these outings and I am so so grateful to be able to take my dog out in public with confidence in the training received.

I came across Becky & Giuseppe via Instagram, and THANK GOD I DID. We are a large working farm and have many animals and livestock, and our growing fur baby family was in desperate need of true training. Outside of me.
I am a busy farm momma with young children, a busy schedule and simply lack the true skills to properly train anything!
When I met Becky, she reassured me that my pups were starving for structure and needed a purpose, and simply needed to be restarted from the beginning. Although it was a large commitment financially, it was the last option for my family to keep the pups.
Bella is a young (found) pup who was homeless and abused, so training her required a true professional.
Marcus is our first pup, and is a lab / pit who simply became an attack dog once Bella arrived.
For the safety of our farm and family, we entrusted Becky and Giuseppe to help us.

Our pups did the 4 week board and train, and all I can say is…. Thank god I did.
Our dogs are rewired, they know commands and understand their roll.
Not only did the pups get trained, but so did we. We know how to support our dogs, give them what they need from stimulation to down time.
We have been so thankful for this experience, and would happily recommend to anyone who is simply stuck.

Companion Canine Dog Training has truly exceeded our expectations with their board and train program. From the moment we dropped off our beloved pup Miley, we knew she was in the best of hands. The peace of mind we felt was instantaneous, thanks to the warm and welcoming environment provided by Becky and Gueseppe.

Companion Canine was wonderful! We won a free dog training session from a raffle they did at a local event (super cool they did that!) and we got lots of helpful knowledge and tips from them in our session! We have a reactive mini Aussie who has been through training in the past from others and Companion Canine gave us great information that helps boost what we already have been working on while also giving us new ideas we didn't know. They did not look down on us or our dog for being reactive. They were calm, highly experienced, understanding, and very encouraging. I highly recommend!

Companion Canine’s board and training program was the best choice we made for our family!
We adopted Falcon about 4 years ago and has always been a decently mild mannered dog, but he had room for improvement. His listening skills and recalls would falter in public leaving us with a lack of confidence going out or bringing him around other dogs. Along with reintroducing kennel training, which was a very challenging process because he would bark, pant, and cry, leaving us feeling like failures.
In only 3 weeks, Falcon has made quite the turnaround! We now are no longer worried about whether or not we would be equipped to bring him out in public with other dogs. Not only is he better with his listening, his recall is no longer a stressor. His kennel training has improved greatly, we are no longer being woken up at all hours of the night. Becky and Gueseppe were the only option we considered when it came to dog training. They are both highly skilled and knowledgeable, choosing was a real no-brainer.

The 8-week training course is well worth the time. My rescue dog is hyper-reactive around other dogs, but the course gave me the tools to properly correct his behavior. We can now walk in public and he's much calmer now. Will join the pack walks and group lessons too.

We can highly recommend Companion Canine. Gueseppe and Becky are clearly highly knowledgeable, experienced and professional with a love for dogs and the work they do. They honor the dogs’ innate spirit and needs while addressing the owner’s goals for a happy family unit. The program is much more than “obedience training” as in our case, they looked at the “whole dog” addressing anxiety, fearfulness and providing us with tools and structure for moving forward.

After taking home our 7-month-old puppy, “Bugsy” home from a local adoption event, we quickly realized we needed help. Bugsy was a sweet, affectionate, ball of energy with no house manners whatsoever. She was afraid of almost everything and everyone. Getting her through the front door for a walk was almost impossible. Loving this sweet girl to death, it was still difficult to imagine a happy, enjoyable life together for all concerned. We felt somewhat guilty sending her off to “boarding school” but told ourselves it was for the best. By the end of three weeks it was very clear Bugsy was having the time of her life and we were concerned she would be happy to returning to us.

Now home, Bugsy is so much happier and so are we. We can enjoy each other’s company throughout the day. She has mastered ‘heel’ and is out and about the world on a regular basis. We can direct Bugsy away from annoying behavior or trouble via the ‘PLACE’ command – our favorite. She can now finish the day with us snuggling in front of the TV before happily going off to her crate.

We are very confident in recommending Companion Canine. A rewarding, worthwhile experience.
