If I could give zero stars I would! STAY AWAY!
I used City Bark Lodo to board my dog. On the morning of 6/16/24 my dog obtained an injury which resulted in sutures and medication. I was informed by the staff that the injury was not self inflicted and happened during supervised play time with other dogs. When I picked up my dog the staff told me to submit any vet bills for reimbursement. I proceeded to send my vet invoice to City Bark Lodo for the reimbursement on 6/18/24. After a month of waiting, I reached out for an update on reimbursement process (7/17/24). The General Manager (Kaylynn Bird) had not begun the process of reimbursement at that point. I requested my money back for the boarding due to the inconvenience this had caused. I received my money back for the boarding and a promise from the general manager that the vet invoice would be processed. It has been over 3 months since the incident and the general manager has stopped responding to my correspondence, and has not given proof that the vet bill has reimbursement process was even started. The vet bill was $612.09

this place is awesome. Carissa really helped me out. She was so friendly. She gave me a tour. She explained everything. The dogs look so happy check them out on TikTok and you will want to take your dog there. That’s a great place to go. The prices are very reasonable and they have a lot of activities for your dog whether you keep your dog there overnight or just take him for a play date you will be very happy.

Stay away unless you want your sweet dog to be traumatized.

When I spoke to the receptionist, they reassured me they would look after my 5-month old pup. The red flags were obvious upon dropping him off. The woman with long fake eyelashes at reception kept complaining about how much she wanted to go home and take a nap when I tried to verify my pup would be looked after during evaluation. I requested he not be put into 15+ groups with large dogs and to let him rest after evaluation given his age. She reiterated how much she wanted to take a 3 hour nap. I should’ve known in that moment the neglect present at this facility. I requested he be socialized with low-energy small dogs that aligned with his needs and was reassured he'd be monitored properly.

I never received a notification that my pup was finished with his evaluation as promised. At 2 pm, I checked the webcams and, sure enough, he was in a playroom with 20+ large dogs. The attendant was checked out on their phone texting, not paying attention at all. I watched multiple times as my helpless, timid pup was bullied without any intervention. A bully dog continued to grab him aggressively by the ears and drag him around. It was obvious in the live cam that my pup was not consenting to this rough treatment. Wouldn’t call it anything close to "play". My dog was trying to get away but would be pinned on his back and dragged by his ears by this bully dog. The one attendant on their phone, not paying attention. This went on for 15+ minutes. My dog was left defenseless and helpless.

I called multiple times to ask that he be removed from this playroom but was sent to voicemail. I had to leave my work conference early to rescue my dog from this maltreatment and neglect. I had asked that he not be put in this environment in the first place given his age.

Proceed with caution at this facility. They will throw your dog into groups of 20+ when understaffed with untrained, distracted professionals monitoring playtime. They allow the one attendant on-duty to text while neglecting a room full of dogs. It's shocking. They don’t care about the needs of your dog or actively monitor consensual, equal, fair dog play. Seems obvious given the evaluation is free. Should’ve known. Stay away unless you want your sweet dog to be traumatized.

See attachments for proof. In one screenshot, the attendant just walks by.

City Bark is part of my winter survival strategy and it is truly changing my life. My pup is happy and tired at the end of the day instead of cuckoo because it's too cold outside to get him enough exercise by walking. They play yard cameras are always a fun distraction during the day too 🙂

We have used city bark lodo for over 5 years and the place has been on a decline to the point that we decided to move to a different daycare and boarding facility. City bark used to be really well run, orderly and clean and I felt like my dog was well cared for. Management has changed and there were several things that added up over time, and I wish we found a new place sooner. For example, we paid for the boarding package with a photo update and would regularly not receive the updates unless we called. One day it was very nice out and at pick up I asked if the dogs went outside and they said “not today because of the weather” which I thought was odd - they advertise having a nice outdoor play area. Drop off and pick up became very frustrating - not just the parking lot or construction which isn’t their fault, but there would be only 1-2 people staffed during peaks pickup drop off times so it would take a while. On one occasion, there were 2 people up front at a peak pickup time, paying no attention to customers and the line forming. The final straw was a few weeks ago during a “reservation only” day. I get to the desk and I thought my husband made a reservation but he didn’t, so that’s on us. But during the 10 or so minutes I waited to check in to find this info out, I became increasingly aware of how poorly the place was being run. The front area was disheveled and had a strong urine/dirty smell. When the front desk told me that we didn’t have a reservation, I actually felt relief because it didn’t feel like a safe, clean place to leave my dog. I left the facility with my dog and that day enrolled her in a different daycare. I think we put too much into how much we USED to love this place, but it’s a completely different place now. I would recommend finding another place to send your dog for daycare/boarding.

Our 2 year old mutt Juniper loves City Bark! This is my first dog in 15 years so I was worried about finding her proper boarding. She comes home calm and happy from City bark. She’s gotten more comfortable with the other dogs. She is excited to go to the day care. She’s. A fearful dog sometimes so the fact she loves City bark makes us feel so happy. Love this place! Also the live cams are really reassuring for pet parents.

As others have said: Stay Away!
I've been taking my dog to CB: Lodo for almost a year now for daycare. They were great and my dog was always excited to go. The last couple times we went, however, it became clear how much the staff doesn't care about my dog.
I took my dog in a couple months ago for daycare and because I wasn't sure how late I'd be picking her up, I included treats and some dog food for them to feed her. The dog food is the fresh kind that needs to be refrigerated. I put the bag of it on the counter and told the front desk person about the food. However, when I came back 8 hours or so later, the bag was still on the counter exactly where I had put it and the food was still there, warm.
Yesterday, I needed to have a medical procedure, so I took my dog in for boarding for the night. Again I included food (enough for the stay) and treats (greenies). Again, they had the information about them. I picked her up tonight after dinner and asked, just to be sure, if she'd eaten. I was told that there wasn't enough food when they checked. So either she was given a whole bag of the Farmer's Dog food (when the instructions I gave them said 1/2 bag) at breakfast, or something else happened to the food. They couldn't tell me what happened, other than speculation. I had also given permission to feed her their house food and treats, so they didn't even do that (which I would understand if they had dropped the Farmers Dog food on the floor or something). Then, when I took back my belongings, I found that the Greenies hadn't even been given to her (which I had instructed to be given at midday), both days! I confirmed with the attendant that these instructions had been in the system.
On top of that, when I checked to see if she was getting play time on their live cams (2 of which don't even work), I saw no sign of her with the other dogs. I'm not sure if she got play time or not (which is supposedly part of the boarding package).
This place just doesn't care anymore. They don't care about their customers and they don't care about the dogs. The facility is run down and poorly maintained. Most photos of the equipment on this location's website are either from another location or from so many years ago that it doesn't even look the same.
I'm never coming here again.

I want to give a shout out to the manager at City Bark, Lodo . I had one minor concern and when I called today, she was incredibly kind and informative, made a note of it and thanked me for letting her know. My pup always comes back happy and exhausted after doggy daycare or boarding. I really do think the staff loves our animals like we do and knowing that she took the time to listen to me and not brush me off, reinforced my confidence in their care. Alfie will be back to play asap ❤️🐾
