Chipper's Board & Train

Chip was such a major help and so resourceful. He took our two puppies in at about 6 months old and help work on their nipping, separation anxiety, basic training, excitement, recall, etc. They are still hyper little pups but are so much more manageable well behaved. He helped our kids to feel more comfortable with them and showed them a few training tips with them. Chip was a wealth of information and resources as he provided us with a lot of videos and text references. I highly recommend him!

Chip’s self assuredness and confidence put my dog at ease within minutes of meeting and greeting him for the first time. My highly anxious foster dog, normally reactive and fearful of strangers, was able to relax and explore the new environment as Chip skillfully used play and controlled distraction to evaluate her behavior. My dog had been in a shelter for 2 years, exposed to her first home only several months before. I wanted to assess how she would adapt to a completely unfamiliar environment with a new person and novel distractions. Chip’s training facility, complete with lots of space and equipment ( chicken coop included) was the ideal place to do just that! Aware of Chip’s commitment to positive reinforcement practice (an absolute requirement for me as a Family Paws educator) combined with his excellent credentials and experience, I knew I could count on him for a valuable assessment. Which is why I drove almost 2 hours for the consultation. But it was his ability to establish trust and connect with my pup that I found most impressive. At the end of our day, she seemed reluctant to leave him. Thank you, Chip. This turned out to be not only the best day of our lives together but an experience which will certainly will serve this dog well when she eventually finds her forever home. Chip was great with our dog Luna. We did a 9 day board and train and felt like Luna was in great hands the whole time we were gone. Chip takes photos and training videos and posts them throughout the duration so we can learn right along side our pup. Luna has some reactivity issues we have been working on and Chip provided a great foundation and provided us tools we can use to continue the training when the board and train was over. He went above and beyond with tracking Luna’s training, created an extremely in-depth training plan, and took time to transfer knowledge and answer questions. You can tell he is really passionate about it. His property is a dog oasis with lots of land for the dogs to exercise, plus dedicated training space. I cannot say enough positive things.

Chip is awesome! We did board and train with our dog ZoZo (short for Arizona). ZoZo is often fearful of men, but she warmed up to Chip quickly. Chip was great about uploading photos and videos to our portal so we could see how she was doing. She LOVED having all the open space to roam and run, and Chip said her recall was great and that she never needed to be on leash when he took her around the property. On top of that, Chip provides training videos that are SUPER! Not only do you get to see your dog's progress in the training, but he provides great and practical tips for the owner to continue with the training when the pup returns home! We already have another stay with Chip lined up, and we definitely would recommend him to other dog owners!

Chip is exceptional when it comes to training an animal. My sons dog Oakley he is a pup but a big pup. I found out after getting him that there were changes that needed to be made and chip has done so much for Oakley. He is great.

Chip is fabulous! I have a baby giant schnauzie and my dad's 1 year old miniature schnauzer that he took for a week. After that week there has been great progress, especially with my dad's mini that has confidence issues as well as the rough play between the two has gotten more productive. The baby was using all of her sharp baby teeth and my dad's mini would only go harder vs setting a boundary and was covered with scabs and scratches. Now they play, the mini sets good boundaries and the baby doesn't bite where she leaves marks. My baby schnauzie is able to be super relaxed in public (unless there is a skateboarder she is scared of that noise as we live in the desert. It's on our agenda). I am continuing training with my dad's (as well as my dad as Chip spent hours just with him to coach him) and will also use him to help with my older two mini schnauzies to be able to relax more and walk better on leash.

Chip was wonderful helping me learn to get fast results from my fearful dachshund, a breed that is notoriously stubborn and hard to train. She has such fun when it is time to do her short and easy lessons that when she sees me grab the treat bag she immediately sits! She loves to train and has gained more self assurance in the world. Coco and I couldn’t be happier. I was not sure how over the computer training would work, but Chip walked us through everything, was patient, and so genuinely enthusiastic about each small success. He noticed even the smallest body change from Coco and explained what each meant. I have had and trained my own dogs my whole 49 years of life- but he understood my dog better than I did in one session!! Chip is great- give it a try, you pup will thank you!
