Purchased our bearded dragon from this store . Hes very healthy little guy! Anthony did such a great job answering all our questions about bearded dragons and what we need to set up our tank for it and how to keep him healthy. My son’s very pleased with it. Amazing service! Def will only come here for our pet needs!!

Owner Chris = scummbag.
Why support local shops when he obviously doesn't care about the locals.

Long story short, we had a frostbite clownfish that was about 2 inches long we've had for years starting as a baby fish we bought on our anniversary. We were moving our tank from one house to the other and we needed somewhere for our fish to go while we got our new tank setup.

We asked if pet works would hold the fish for us so that we could get our tank established. They said yes and we understood that we would be charged for it and that was no problem.

We go back to pick our fish up a couple weeks later and guess who sold our fish? Nobody called us and nobody cared. When we went in to pick it up the employees were so shocked and apologetic that it happened. After some time, comes to find out that Chris gave a certain employee permission to sell it knowing it wasn't for sale or even his fish. Who does that Such a scummbag and jerk. No call, no explanation or care from him.

We were so disappointed because the fish had personal value to us. If your into saltwater you understand the work it takes. They offered us a $75 credit and that's it. (Even tho that fish was worth way more than that and money wasn't going to fix the sentimental value.)

We've been going to pet works for years. Front desk lady Teresa is the nicest lady to work with and has always been very helpful and very informative through the years. We love her!

I support local, but I don't support unethical dishonesty.
There's a reason nobody sees the owner Chris because nobody likes him. He is shady and is out to make a buck.

I come here for fresh water aquarium fish and the live foods they offer. They have a reasonably good selection of fish and some nice plants. What I really love about this place is they are able to order a huge variety of fish and the employees will try and find what you want and order it in for you. I have bought some difficult to find fish and large schools of fish here. over all they are a great resource to have in chico for fish keepers. you don’t have to pay shipping like online and the mark up is very reasonable.

I picked up 6 Cherry shrimp here to start my colony and they're beautiful. The girl working was also super helpful.

Even if there was anything worth buying here, I would’ve been able to bring myself to buy it. The birds are in dirty cages and clearly distressed, and there are far too many mice per cage to be humane. Even the plants seemed unwell
