Everyone was great. The techs and veterinarian were so gentle with her. The vet gave me options for treatment, and we were able to figure things out with an xray. She knew where to start with testing, and by doing that, saved me money without doing unnecessary tests. I was very pleased that I was able to get an appointment so soon, even without being a regular client. Very happy with the care! Shes doing great!

Ellen Mcnitt has been our vet since Waylon and Willie were 7 weeks old. She has always been a caring person with our boys. We also like how all the employees are kind to Willie and Waylon. They treat Willie and Waylon special when they trim their toenails and when they have to get their ears cleaned and when they get their teeth cleaned. They play with our dogs when they are doing these things. We appreciate all their hard work.

Man the doctor was awesome, his father owns the place I recommend going to him, he saved my dog. It's about the pets, not the money we need more vets like him around here. The staff was awesome also thanks again guys for all that u did for Lucky.

I had to change locations from the Herrin location because Dr Mcnitt is just terrible. She was rude and condescending with an awful demeanor. Not just to myself and my dog but she was being real mean to the vet tech assisting as well. This bad appointment was RIGHT after one of my dogs had just passed away and so this vet being mean and spiteful was NOT the interaction I wanted. I came here only after the bad experience and found that I am NOT the only one that has had a problem with this vet.

I changed locations to the Marion location and had the completely opposite experience! I had Dr Kelly over there and she is great!

Love Central animal hospital and everyone who works tbere. A big shout out to Dr. Ashe who has been helping me through hard times with my soul furbaby Merlin. Merlin has congestive heart failure . And Dr. Ashe has that great ability to make you feel comfortable Thank you

Dr. McNitt is hands down the worst veterinarian I’ve ever encountered, and after multiple disappointing visits, I’ll never return. Her attitude is rude, condescending, and downright unprofessional. She treated both me and the staff like an inconvenience. Comments like “What do you want me to do?” and “Are you going to show me?” are the least of it. She has no patience and made it clear she didn’t care about providing quality care.

This wasn’t a one-time thing—every single interaction with her has been equally awful. She told me my pet’s allergies were untreatable and would be a lifelong issue, offering no real advice or empathy. I had to ask her to clean my pet’s ears and even recommend an ear wash—simple things any decent vet would offer without prompting. She also made an uncalled-for, harsh comment about my pet’s breeding that was completely unnecessary.

Under Dr. McNitt’s care, this clinic feels like a depressing, cold place. When Gordon worked here, it was a totally different environment—friendly, inviting, and professional. I have no doubt that Dr. McNitt will soon drive away all the clients this practice has left. I would never recommend her or this practice to anyone.

My German Shepard had a leg problem that kept reoccurring. We were very concerned but, from the staff, Veterinarian, and especially the two wonderful surgeons, this place was beyond phenomenal. The surgeon followed up with how my Dog was, expressed concern the whole time and truly love animals. Their knowledge of my dog had me convinced I was in the right place and I was. I will ALWAYS go to them for anything any of my pets need. Ten out of five stars!! Thank you to the staff of Central Animal Hospital, Herrin!!
