First time kayaking Cedar Lake. Absolutely stunning. From Carbondale ramp , off to the left we went. So many coves to explore. The Big Cliffs were amazing. What’s up with the door?

The bass fishing is supposed to be top notch here. I was not that impressed. Fished late September, all dinks. Mediocre at best. Not worth the 6 hour drive. However, the beautiful scenery made up for it!

Excellent kayaking lake. Excellent cliffs and natural scenery towards the north end. I’ve heard it’s an excellent lake for fishing and hiking as well. Easily one of the best lakes in the state.

This is a superior lake for kayaking make sure you get to the south end and cross over the waterfall and check out little cedar lake. This is the river to river trail crossing point.

Cedar lake was AMAZING!!! My wife and I went there as part of our vacation. Caught some nice size crappies with in minutes of being there. We had a lot of fun.

Cedar lake is probably the best fishing lake in southern Illinois record breaking stripers quality slot limit Bass huge crappie fishing excellent peace and quiet can't beat it excellent wildlife excellent scenery very good at slot limit really does help the bass fishing why not catch a huge one but you'll get quality fish
