One Client's Experience

"Loki stayed at Cats Cradle for about 4 1/2 months prior to an overseas move. Going in he was a pretty shy guy. Between the awesome cat energy there, 'Auntie' Paula's love and attention, and Ken's persistent efforts to be Loki's friend, he came out of there a different, very confident cat. On the flight from Denver to Lisbon, in the cabin with me and a layover in Newark, he was cool, calm, and collected. He's settling into life in Portugal well, and I can't thank Paula and Ken enough for the care Loki received with them."

This testimonial demonstrates the transformative impact Cats Cradle Cattery can have on a cat's well-being, as well as the compassionate and dedicated care provided by the cattery's staff.

This was my first experience boarding my cats and was looking for somewhere that was cats only. When I called I got minimal information but looked them up online and they had good reviews so I decided to try them. $10 a day per cat is a pretty good deal but you get what you pay for. This place is dated, the kennels are multi-level but a little small but the owners seem to love cats and the place was pretty full when I dropped my cats off for a five night stay. I left them with toys, food, and everything they could need along with instructions on how much food to give them per day. I called for updates after a night or two and got minimal responses like they were fine and when I would ask specifics I didn’t get an answer. When I went to pick them up, I found that they didn’t feed them any of the food that I brought and they were feeding them whatever they had for the rest of the cats. I asked more questions about how their stay went and got no response. Even when I walked in, they thought I was picking up a different cat. There is no real system or formal check in/check out process. My two cats were severely stressed out after picking them up and it took them a few days to recover and keep down their normal food. I will not be using them again because of the lack of updates and not feeding them the correct food.

We have used this facility for several years with 3 different cats. First of all it is run by people who really love cats. They know cat behavior and they let the cats wander and greet each other. It is a wonderful experience for any cat to enjoy. Will use again!

I took my cat here about a year ago. The owners seemed nice enough, but the facility itself was in disarray and smelled of cat urine. I was really disappointed when I picked up my cat and saw they free fed it the food they provide and not what I brought specifically for my cat.
My cat was also constipated after I took it home, and eventually needed an ER visit that cost me $600 after we tried everything at home.
After seeing similar stories on Next-door I wanted my experience to be known as well.
If you have a cat with special needs it will not get individual attention.
Let's just say at $10 a day you get what you pay for.

Although I didn't board my cat there this time, trip canceled. I did tour the facility and saw several cats out and about, being happy. The gentleman explained everything and went over pricing. The cost seemed more than reasonable. I will use them next time I have a trip.

I had to take my kitty here when I came to Denver when we moved back from Missouri. I know my kitty was, stressed out but looking at pictures she looks quite relaxed. Which is a good thing. As soon as I spoke to Paula I knew that she would take the best of care for my Sugar! She is a wonderful human being and Ken as well. I am so happy my son found this place real close to his home. Paula has so much love for the cats and treats, each and every kitty with that love and compassion. I wouldn't want any other person to watch my cats except Paula. At least you can sleep at night knowing that your cat is well cared for. Thank you so much Paula ! You are great! Carmela

We boarded our 5 month old kitten, Slim Charles, with Paula and Ken and it was a fantastic experience! Yes, they use more outdated measures to run their business, but it certainly does not take away from how much they love and care for every cat that comes through their doors. This cattery is clearly very special to them. This was our first time having to leave Slim Charles and I was very stressed. Paula was so sweet and kind and made me feel so much better about having to board him. When I called to make the reservation, she spoke to me for quite awhile about the cattery, answered all questions and ensured me our kitty would have a blast. I called for updates during Slim’s stay and Paula was happy to give them; telling me our kitty loved to follow Ken around the cattery and help with chores and that Ken has nicknamed him “Slim Jim.” When we picked our little guy up, he was definitely excited to see us, but was not at all distressed. After we got home, Slim slept for hours like he had been playing all weekend! Although we love the facility where we board our dog, this level of play and attention is not something we’d get there for Slim. We will definitely be using Cats Cradle Cattery EVERYTIME we need to board our kitty!

These people obviously care about their cats. They took very good care of my two cats for about 6 days while we went to the mountains where cats were not allowed. They were very reasonably priced, too! Isn't it weird about Denver, though? They're all about animals, but you can't take them anywhere because nobody wants them in their homes.

Bring a cat carrier with you, because you'll need it. They seem to be very concerned with the safety of all of the cats. Several of their own cats roam the floors and they don't want them outside, which I understand. It was a very clean facility and obviously, they know how to take care and love on your cats. I found myself appreciating the care they seem to take from day one. They make it a priority to make sure that your cat is safe and they have very large cages for your cat with plenty of room to move around. Several levels in the cage, sometimes.

They require the normal level of shots and shot records, which I appreciated, helping me feel a little bit safer about bringing my cats in with other cats.

They do not accept anything but checks and cash. That's a downfall these days. I realize why they do it and it's not a bad reason, but they're a little bit behind the times. If a credit card company charges you between 4-6%, it can really hurt a small business sometimes. However, I might suggest using PayPal friends where there is no fee taken away, and some other apps that don't charge anything. Those would be simple to use and make it very easy for people to pay for their cat's stay.

If I were to ever come to Denver again, which I hope I never do because Denver is no longer a nice place to go to. Too many people. Infrastructure is not up to date and can't handle the traffic nor the number of people everywhere. Instead of a being a Rocky mountain high atmosphere, with the beautiful mountains all around you, it's pure concrete and civilization that is at its worst. That's just my opinion. Still, for the purpose of this review, I would certainly take my cats here again.

The only negative I have to this place is one that would not affect your cat care, but it was frustrating to find this place as it's kind of hidden in the woods. There's no clear bright signage saying "turn here." It could be a very dangerous place to turn into with all of the traffic and a major intersection less than a hundred foot away.
