Carrefour

Great supermarket- everything you need from a shopping centre! Fantastic selections available of various stock. Clean and well presented. Some nice displays - especially of the fresh produce. Reasonable prices. We visited here multiple times during our stay in Romania.

Excellent selection of products and very good prices. Great air-conditioning in the summer and Wi-Fi connection.

Terrible experience today at Carrefour. I asked a young worker if she worked there and after confirming then asked if she could tell me where the yoghurt was “Do you think I know where everything is in the shop?” Was her aggressive reply. WOW, I was totally shocked and asked her why she was being rude - then another worker comes across (I later find it’s her boyfriend), gets right in my face aggressively asking me what’s my problem- I literally thought he was going to hit me. I walk away, luckily for them my husband was upstairs (although I’m sure it wouldn’t have happened with a man around). At the checkout I ask for the manager, but I was told the manager is not available. Staff at end of checkout inform me the girl was in merchandising (no excuse for being rude). One of the older members of staff who I complain to go to speak to them- I’ve no idea what they said, but as the older staff is walking back to me I can see them both laughing to each other. Unbelievable! Her and her boyfriend have had complaints before. I cannot understand then why they still work there - or at least why are they allowed to work together if that is some weird fetish game they like to play together. The customer service responses for reviews are always friendly and apologetic, but for sure none of these messages are getting through to the managers as they don’t seem to be doing anything about it, so what’s the point in responding? Never experienced anything like that in a supermarket. The most prominent supermarket in a tourist area the staff there are representing Romania to the outside world- not a good look!

Actually I think it is a good place for buying souvenirs, especially if you come from Asia.

This is a large supermarket near old town. Prices are good and most of the items can be found. I like the hot food options because hot food is much better than the restaurants in old town. I get cooked food from here and sometimes there is line for hot food. It has two floors and second floor has also several items. Only improvement can be fruit section. Fruit selections can be improved.

The first level is for rapid shopping. Wasn't clean enough as you would wish to see. Other carrefour markets are cleaner. But the upper floor is the place to visit and to make you want to stay and shop. The entrance was okayish but the return from the parking level - i used the stairs - to go outside is like in the horror movies.

This is the worst Carrefour in Bucharest! Don’t get me wrong as I am a loyal customer of these Hypermarkets. I had to visit it due to proximity at that time. I needed only 2 things that I knew the brand has in its Hypermarkets. One was emphatically missing - the entire section was missing. So I went back to my underground parked car to leave, went directly to the car, drove to barrier exit and waited for the camera to recognize the license plate… no response, ok I said maybe it is not working, I inserted the ticket… no response! I was puzzled and while looking around I say a maned payment booth. What the what I said where are the 1-2 free parking hours?, got out, tapped on window and gave the ticket while noticing on the window the charges…there was no free charge but a minimum of 1€. Well I thought maybe it’s ok because of the ultra center location. Took out my mobile device and showed it to the teller… no no no he said, only cash!!! What? I said, we are in the European Union?. I never cary or use cash but we were lucky because a friend with me had cash. Gave it to the guy, he looked at it, turned to a legacy desk top pc and moved the mouse doing a click. Then he pointed to the barrier…. He had opened it?. I just turned around and wanted to flee from the overall bad experience. While driving, I replayed the movie in my mind and realized that the Teller never gave me a fiscal receipt!!! Aaaa I thought, he faked the entire story of no POS just to force out cash that will definitely go to his right pocket. Good night Carrefour.

Well stocked supermarket in the city centre. Wide selection of products with a nice hot deli where you can sit n enjoy your food
