Love that Care-A-Lot offers a self-service dog bath. But I am taking off a star for said baths, though. The water needs to be slightly warmer. My dog was freezing during his bath. Also, while the tub was kinda clean, the drain was not, as it was not draining properly. There also definitely needs to be something to offer grip/traction on the steps in and out of the tubs.
The store as a whole was very clean, didn't smell of pee, and was well stocked. The shelves were fronted and it all looked so nice. I wish they had more options of pet clothes, but I appreciated what they did have. Staff was VERY friendly, welcoming, and fun. My dog loved all the attention he received. Apparently, he doesn't get enough from me. They offered him treats, which we had to decline as the last time the treats at check out upset his tummy a little. He seemed to think it was 100% worth it, but his farts could peel paint.
Bilbo Waggins and I will definitely be returning.

They have everything. Locally owned. It's worth the drive. They have a location just over the border on North Carolina, too. I also found out they they can move products between stores for you also.

I live in MA and my Grandmother lives in OH. Recently her cats food got discontinued and that picky baby wanted what we could not give her. Thankfully this VA based company had some in stock, their customer service agent, Tracy, was the most helpful person I have had the privilege to talk to. She helped me along each and every step of the way and even reached out to me about an issue that we quickly solved!

This is our Boston Terrier’s favorite place on earth. He’s been attending doggie daycare at Care-A-Lot for years and still can’t hold back his excitement every time we pull into the parking lot. The staff are the kindest folks around and you just know your pup is well looked after by the joy they have when each dog walks through the door! Highly recommend!

Daycare/boarding is fantastic!
Grooming is meh. Price doesn’t match the quality.
Also have a diy dog bath available at a great price. They offer shampoo & towels but there is usually a wait if you have big dogs.

Family owned business. Support small companies as well as carry major brands. Knowledgeable staff. Great prices, especially for a specialty store. We're hooked. Highly recommend.
