Absolutely the best investment we could have made with our new puppy. Linda was patient with all 3 of us, such a good coach, and an encouragement all along the way. We did 6 lessons when our golden was about 6 months old and the difference it made is remarkable. Linda came to our home turf, took us on the Riverwalk to be sure we had a grasp on how to handle all the distractions as well as class time at her facility. If you are frustrated or despairing (!) with a new puppy, please try this. It worked for us.

I just completed a six week puppy class with my puppy Oliver. I cannot express how much Oliver and I both learned. He has mastered many commands, and understands both verbal and hand signals. I am able to take him into stores, banks, and my fathers nursing home and know his behavior will be acceptable at all times. Linda also recommended a seat belt system for my pup. Now he sits comfortably in the back seat and can relax while traveling. I highly recommend Linda Porter and her Canine Training Academy.

We adopted Willow from the local humane society. He had been there for over a year and when he came into our home, we couldn't believe this sweet brute spent that much time in the shelter. Well...it turns out that he wasn't always so well behaved. Linda had volunteered her services to get Willow in shape for his forever home and she did an excellent job. When we heard she was the one who trained him, we were thrilled because she had helped us train our pup about 6 months before and we loved her and her team. Thanks to a local donor, we were also gifted even more training classes for Willow and everyday he becomes a little closer to his best self. Can't recommend them enough!

Linda was great with Dexter and I even after he bit her twice! She is very knowledgeable and patient. We took both basic obedience training and the E-collar training. Now that Dexter knows what is expected from him he is much better around strangers and is enjoying his new off leash freedom in the mountains! I would highly recommend Canine Training Academy LLC!

Training with Linda and her team has been a great help to my family. We have had two pups complete basic training with Linda and boy, what a difference that has made! Linda was amazing! She really knows her stuff when it comes to dogs and behavior management and more. She helped us get ourselves in order to get our puppy in order and have a ton of fun along the way. She’s straightforward, effective, and takes a balanced approach of using strategies that work. Linda is an absolute gem! She is extremely knowledgeable and patient with her training philosophy and her true love of dogs is evident in every interaction. We brought our puppy Bear to her at 8 weeks old to begin obedience training and it has completely transformed him and us! We learned how to actually play with our puppy to keep him engaged and happy—we learned countless training tactics that will benefit Bear for the rest of his life. Linda Porter is an incredible trainer. She works hard at meeting the needs of the dog and owner. She was stumped with one issue of our dog, her ego didn't get in the way and asked Angel, a different trainer to come in for extra help.
