Mariana is a great trainer! She’s energetic, professional, and helpful. Under her tutelage, our stubborn Goldendoodle has become much more manageable and MUCH calmer when people come into our house. She does a great job with identifying our dogs’ areas for improvement and quickly teaches my husband and me what to do. She’s available for questions when we’re not quite sure what to do, which has been very helpful. I highly recommend her!

Short Review: I have nothing but good things to say about my experience with Canine Initiative Training! My trainer Mariana has been amazing with my dog Koa and I, and I’d recommend her and CIT to anyone! She’s patient, explains things well, and in general is a fun person to be around!

Long Review: Thank you CIT for working with Koa and I! Koa came from a cruelty situation and had been at the shelter for months before I met him. Apparently I was the only person who’d ever shown interest in him and I was determined to rescue him. Unfortunately, due to some behavioral issues, a heartworm diagnosis, and my personal circumstances, I had to convince the shelter to give me a chance to find a trainer who’d work with us before I could adopt him. When I described my situation, most trainers left me feeling disheartened and hopeless because despite the vet giving me the ok to do stress-free training, they wouldn’t work with me until his heartworm treatment was complete and the shelter doesn’t start treatment until after adoption. Then the one trainer that said would work with me stopped responding right before we were supposed to meet/start the process, so again, I felt like we were back at square one. Then I found Canine Initiative Training and Mariana, who has helped me bring out the amazing dog I knew was hiding behind all the “crazy” and “aggression” that everyone else swore Koa had due to his breed. Today, Koa’s heartworm-free, in training to become a service dog, living his best life, and bringing joy back into mine! Thank you for helping me rescue my baby!

Shiloh is a 6-month-old, 60-pound English Cream Golden Retriever with a boat load of energy, a strong will and still more growing to do, so it was imperative we get her trained.

There are a considerable number of dog trainers out there however, after researching to find the one that would best meet our needs, we decided to go with Canine Initiatives and are extremely glad we did! Canine Initiatives goes beyond training your pet, they educated us in the best way to communicate with Shiloh to reinforce good behavior.

Hannah was assigned as Shiloh's trainer and from the very beginning we could tell that she was truly knowledgeable, patient and easy to work with. Will also worked with Shiloh on occasion and was exceptionally good at educating us on how to communicate effectively with Shiloh.

I cannot begin to express what a huge positive difference Canine Initiative's training has made in Shiloh's behavior.

Thank you, Canine Initiatives!!!!

Our Golden Retriever is just over 1 year old, and we were referred to Will by one of his clients. Over 5 sessions, some of the areas we focused on were proper walking techniques including handling distractions, staying on a bed, learning to stop at a designated barrier until given permission to move, limit jumping when greeting someone, and riding in a car in a calmer manner. Will was professional, on time, and knowledgeable. We would highly recommend Will's service.

Our experience with CIT have been amazing. Mariana our trainer has shown us all types of verbal and non verbal commands to help control our puppy. Our Doberman, Zoe is a wild child, but with Mariana’s help and guidance, she has become a well trained pup. Definitely recommend Mariana to anybody that needs help training their dogs.

Mariana is a Lifesaver!! She has been amazing with our puppy -Bear!! I am not a huge dog person, and I was very nervous about getting a dog with two teenage boys. Mariana took Bear for two weeks and got her in shape. Thanks to Mariana, We now have Bear on a routine, she knows what to expect and where to go at every turn. And no more accidents in the house!!!! ♥️

We researched dog trainers after realizing our lab puppy was growing stronger by the day, eventually becoming more than we could comfortably manage. When Canine Initiative Training came recommended by more than one source, including our vet, we decided to give them a try.

Mariana was our trainer, and from the first session it was clear that she knew exactly how to handle our dog. Before Mariana, he was difficult to bring on walks because he pulled so strongly. He also rushed at visitors, wanting to constantly be the center of attention. Mariana worked with us, using positive reinforcement and advising us how to understand the way he perceives the world and what his underlying motivations are so we could better shape his behavior.

We purchased the six session package, and I am very happy we did. Mariana was wonderful to work with and I highly recommend her especially if you have a high energy dog!

We hired CIT to help with our 9 month old husky puppy. Our trainer, Mariana has been amazing! You can tell she loves animals and really understands their psychology. Our pup is able to follow commands while walking and camping. She also has been a huge help teaching our four year old how to interact with our puppy. I would highly recommend CIT and ask for Mariana she is wonderful!!!
