We love Beth and Wayne at Canine Companion Consulting. They are so patient with us and our little Sadie, and always make us feel comfortable. It amazes us how knowledgeable they are and show us simple, but effective ways to help in so many situations. We look forward to our appointments each week so we can learn new things. My dog (MIRA) and I had many very enlightening and educational training sessions with Wayne and Beth. I signed up for a series of 15 (weekly) individual sessions. Each session was based on what I felt my young (6 to 9 mo) pup needed at the time. Each session very professionally addressed the current issue that I thought needed attention. I always learned something new about how dogs think and respond to various stimuli and situations. The depth of Wayne and Beth(s) education and experience clearly shined through at each session. Their constructive methods of engaging MIRA in various training routines have given her practices and lasting good habits that will be with her for a lifetime. MIRA not only learned, but I too learned lasting good methods and manners for dealing her.
As MIRA developed through "puppyhood" and into adolescence, she began to encounter (and react to) many new stimuli. Once again I turned to Canine Companion Consulting (Wayne and
Beth) for guidance. Again, a short series of lessons helped MIRA and I a great deal.

In addition to providing, in a very professional manner, valuable guidance for MIRA and myself, Wayne and Beth have proven to be very good people to know. I know MIRA "loves" Wayne (and his magic way of working with her) and I was always impressed with Beth's insight and valuable suggestions for how to approach (from a dog's point-of-view) a problem.

I just finished the Canine Basics class with a new rescue Malamute. I found both trainers and the class to be excellent and worth the money. They obviously put a lot of time into preparing for the class and have the lessons down pat. They are well informed on positive training techniques and research and on developing the bond with your pet and helping him live his best life. I've used three trainers over the years and these guys are the best of the group. They communicate the information to the owners effectively and clearly demonstrate the techniques with your dog in class. I definitely recommend them.

I read the one highly negative review on this site and my experience was the complete opposite. I'd agree they must've reviewed the wrong trainers.

Both my dog Brisco and I always look forward to our learning sessions with Beth and Wayne. When I turn my car onto their street, Brisco tells me how excited he is with continuous loud yips and when he gets out of the car he heads right for their gate. Brisco and I learn so much from Beth and Wayne, and have lots of fun doing it. Beth and Wayne are very knowledgeable, patient, and personable. I highly recommend them.

Beth and Wayne are fantastic!!! I am a veterinarian who adopted two anxious rescue dogs. I’ve worked with Canine Companion Consulting in private lessons and also have done their group classes (canine basics and agility for fun). I definitely plan to sign up for more! They are amazing force-free trainers who have really helped my dogs in building resilience. They are really good at noticing small details to help with our success. We are very, very satisfied with our experience taking a class from Beth and Wayne.

Shortly after adopting our 9-month-old dog, we enrolled in their Canine Training for Beginners class. It turned out to be an incredibly valuable investment in our relationship with our dog, and in our shared future.

One thing we loved about the classes is the mixture of concrete skills we learned how to teach our dog, and the broader principles of dog training that Beth and Wayne taught during each class. This means that coming out of this class, we accomplished two things:
- We now have a set of skills that we have taught to our dog, to help him have good manners with us, and out in the world; and...
- Thanks to the broader principles we learned, we also have an idea of how to teach additional desired behaviors to our dog in the future.

Beth and Wayne are valuable resources when it comes to all things dog-related. The harness and leash they recommended have been great at helping us teach our dog loose-leash walking, without pulling us along. And they are both very patient with dogs, and understanding of dogs' behavior.

Our dog sometimes got impatient during the class, and interrupted things by barking. We felt self conscious about this initially but Beth and Wayne were utterly unflappable, and helped us so much. So if you are at all concerned with ideas like "oh, my dog would be totally unmanageable during a class with other dogs!" please don't let that stop you from enrolling, because Beth and Wayne will be able to help you so much!!

We cannot recommend this class, and these instructors, highly enough.
