We thought the Blair Motel was excellent. Rooms were very clean, and the price was outstanding. The friendly young lady who helped in the front office was so sweet and helpful. Love to see family run businesses like this today, they are far and few between. Definately would recommend this to anyone looking for an affordable, clean place to stay.

The Blair is nothing fancy, but it worked great for us. Fridge and microwave in the room, nice clean bathroom, and semi-comfortable beds. Rates had just gone up, but still a pretty good deal for the area. Not alot of high end hotels to pick from in Idaho Springs. Only drawback is the Blair is on the western end of town farther away from all the restaurants. On the plus side, check out the hummingbirds at the feeders by the office about sundown. There are probably 30-40 each evening. Nice to sit and watch. I would stay here again. Very quiet.

We spent the night at Blair Motel last month. Our stay was VERY pleasant! The room was large and very clean! It was located on a quiet residential street and the owers were very helpful. I would ask to stay in a room on the front side of the motel. There is a large apartment building facing the back side of the motel and the view wasn't quite as nice on that side of the building.

It gets in the 90s in Idaho Springs in the summer and the Blair has no air contioning! Unbelievable. It was terribly hot and I had to leave the windows open for a little breeze and this left me open to all the drunken goings on in the apartment house directly behind me. Certainly not quiet as advertised. They had an 8 year old girl running the desk--I kid you not-- she showed the rooms and even ran the credit card machine. When she messed up our bill, she had to go get mommy to help, but both had problems with the machine. If this kind of thing isn't illegal, it should be! The room was old and worn. You could feel the floorboards creaking and moving under your feet when you walked. The floor was covered in old carpet that needed replaced. The closet was an odd thing that set up off the floor and was patched up inside with unfinished plywood. The rates are certainly not "value priced" as we paid $76 a night for this hole in a wall. There are few choices for motels in Idaho Springs, But I strongly suggest you choose somewhere else.This place has little warning notes pasted around in different places, for example, what will happen to you if you get the towels dirty. Not exactly customer friendly. Overall, an old, noisy joint you won't be happy with. No air conditioning!!!!!

We always try to use the family owned Mom and Pop's while traveling and it can be hit and miss. This is definitely a hit. Clean place, everything worked, quiet, nice people. The owner's 11 year old granddaughter checked us in (with help from grandpa). Very nice. We checked out two other motels in this same class and the Blair by far was the best.

First, we have stayed in five star hotels and small town family owned motels. As long as a place is very clean with basic amenities, bug free, comfortable beds/linens and in a good location we are not picky. The Blair Motel room was all of the above but the floor creaked terribly every step we took in every spot of the floor. It was more than annoying. Also, we like to sleep with the window open and found that the noise from I70 bothered us enough that we had to keep the window closed. The coffee that was provided was terrible or maybe it was the pot itself that didn't heat enough to brew the coffee to a strength other than lukewarm and caramel colored. I also had to go buy a hair dryer as one is not provided. Even in motels we've found this to be a standard amenity.

No pets, high rent. The bathrooms mostly have carpet witch means mold underneath. The mini refrigerator in each room is entirely too small, considering you only have a microwave to cook with and hot plates are not allowed you might think the mini refrigerator might have an ok amount of room for frozen foods but you'd be wrong. The heating and cooling does not work. Over 90% of the time your room will be too hot and just to finish up I'll mention that they raised the price of laundry because "too many people come to wash clothes that don't live there" really!? So people give you more money and you charge your tenants more for a simple luxury. Real smart Peggy

The Blair Motel is a great choice if you are just looking for a place to crash for the night. The room was nothing special (carpeted bathroom kind of strange) but the price was fair for what we got - no frills, no breakfast, just a clean place to sleep and shower. And the owners were very friendly.
