Black Nose is a great shop and boarding place with a kind team running ship! I recently boarded my 10.5lb senior chihuahua for the first time and was a little nervous about he’s so sensitive and was adopted later in life, but Walt and team handled him with grand care! I loved the updates Walt sent as well. Upon picking my dog up, I could tell he was relaxed and the recap Walt gave really showed me more how much he loves and cares for the dogs that stay. Will def return for daycare and/or overnight boarding!

We've been going to Black Nose since 2014 because Walt is basically the only other human we'd trust to watch our pup. We moved out of San Francisco a few years ago but still bring our pup back for boarding here when we travel. Our dog is a mellow senior with daily medication and some other health issues but we fully trust Walt and Black Nose to take care of her. I wish I could give this place 10 stars!

They've trimmed my dogs (Daisy) nails once every other month over the last 5 years. He does a FANTASTIC job and it's only $20. He gets the job done fast because he grinds them right down to the quick perfectly! Quick and easy without the clipping with no chance of splitting a nail. A very satisfied longtime customer

I’ve been going to Black Nose since I adopted my first dog in 2019. Walt and his staff are amazing. I don’t live in the neighborhood anymore but return frequently b/c Black Nose is the only place in SF I trust to cut my dogs nails.

I’ve never boarded or used their babysitting services but every dog I have encountered that’s staying there has been happy and relaxed.

Would highly recommend Black Nose to pet owners in the Divisadero corridor and beyond!

Walt is such a rare person, he makes dogs feel so comfortable, has been doing dogs’ nails for 20+ years and he’s so fast. Support small businesses! You won’t regret it 💕

Our dog is super dramatic with nail trimmings to the point where even the vet would have us give him meds before nail trimming appointments. This is the only place that has been successful at trimming our dog’s nails. They are quick and efficient. We’ve been going regularly now. If your dog is a nail diva take them here and they will get it done

I recently moved into the area and have walked by this location several times. I called to request to set up a monthly daycare service with them and was willing to join the 6 month waiting list before completing her 1/2 day trial, just to be told that this company does not accept huskies or rottweilers at their daycare. I was absolutely shocked at this discriminatory rule since my dog has attended Alpha Dog Lodging in Marin and also Wag Hotels in San Francisco and always received good feedback from both locations. For a company to refuse service based on breed and not even allow a half day trial to judge temperament is one of the most upsetting and archaic things I've heard of. I thought we've moved past judging and entire breed of dog these days but I suppose not.
