Traveling from CA to MN each year, we stay at a lot of hotels. This was so very clean. The rooms were beautifully decorated, comfy beds, lots of extras. Didn’t need the ear plugs - very minimal train noise. Breakfast was better than most - including fresh fruit. Definitely will return next year.

This motel is conveniently located near one of the major intersections in Dalhart, and we were able to park right in front of our room. The room was typical of a basic budget motel, clean, reasonably appointed, and in good repair. Breakfast was better than average, with a variety of hot and cold offerings. The staff were friendly and helpful, and they appeared to be particularly concerned with making sure everything worked well. All rooms faced the busy intersection, which was bustling with large trucks starting and stopping during the daylight hours. Fortunately, we were not bothered by the noise at night. It seemed to be a bit overpriced ($100 + 13% tax) in comparison with similar motels in small towns, but it worked well for us.

I can’t tall you how much the room costs because I used my points so, you’ll have to find out of it’s worth the cost.||It took me a few minutes of fiddling with the tv to get to work properly but I got it. ||There’s a train that comes by and since the rooms aren’t insulated the best they do offer earplugs. Since I’m only here to sleep during transit, not a whole lot to say that’s wrong.||Check in was east and quick.||The room was clean and the bed was comfortable.||There are two things I didn’t like: 1-the room smelled as if someone had previously smoked “wacky tobacky” in the room, though it was very faint. 2-the breakfast, it was bad. Who do you water gravy down that much?

Everything here is great. Rooms very clean, comfortable bed + nice bedding. Everything in room working order. Lots of plugs by bed. Staff is friendly + helpful. Hotel sits along road +train tracks. Trains go by 5 or 6 times a night. Didn't bother us we like the sound. Hotel does offer earplugs if you need them. Most definitely will stop here when traveling thru again.

I called +asked for a early check-in for a handicap room. My sidekick is on oxegen + can not walk far. We were in heavy winds +I forgot about 1 hr later crossing into Texas causing us to run later than expected. Was greeted by a smiling face. When I said who I was, she replied I was worried if something happened. We had ur room ready for you. She asked if I needed anything else. It was so nice to have someone care after such a day. Was able to park directly in front of room.Room smelled clean, everything in good working order. Bed was very comfortable, good bedding, lots of pillows. Lots of plugs by each side of bed.Fridge, microwave, coffeemaker, iron/board, hairdryer. Shower chair +walker. Breakfast had lots of choices even grits! Hotel does sit by hwy wonderw/traintracks along it. 5 or 6 trains went by at night. Not a problem for us. (Love hearing them) Hotel does offer earplugs for those who are bothered. We put the fan on constant + didn't hear the hwy. Highly recommend this hotel. Will definitely come back.1

We had two rooms.|Both mediocre. |To start - after we checked in… the kid at the desk laughed and said “the train” when we asked what the earplugs were for…. It runs right in front of the hotel…. |The pool - is now a patio.|The rooms - were fairly clean BUT…. Soap and towels were lacking. The showers had so much hard water it was difficult to tell if a murder occurred in the shower with all the deep drown staining. The beds…. Flat - lumpy - ruts from 20 years of guests. |And finally breakfast… eggs and sausage had been there 20 years (hard dark yellow edges and leathery) and waffle mix was empty - only|To be told that’s all they had for the morning at 7am. The potatoes were edible but soft and mushy like they been thrown in the warmer frozen. |We will not stay here again.

This hotel has had a great exterior facelift since our past 2 stays. The room was also 95% renovated. Very nicely furnished! The bathroom could have used some more attention. Our tub was very stained/used and there was lots of dirt/dust behind the door in floor grout. We would stay here again for sure!

After at least 20 stays at this hotel, they have lost my business. The last time I stayed there, Gabriel, who was working the overnight shift at the front desk, was extremely rude to me, and blatantly violated ADA federal law. I travel with a legitimate, medically necessary Service Dog to assist me with a disability. My life depends on my medical alert service dog. I have always had my service dog with me when I've stayed at this hotel, without any issues from the staff, until this last stay.

Among other false statements, Gabriel quoted several "rules" to me that blatantly violated federal ADA laws, including such things as, "Service dogs are actually pets, we just can't charge a fee for them." (This is absolutely false-- Service dogs are medical equipment under the law, not pets. He also told me that he could charge me a $100 pet deposit for my service dog if he wanted to--also false, and a violation of the law. Again, since Service dogs are medical equipment, not pets, they cannot charge a deposit for them. Would they charge a deposit for a wheelchair? No? Then they can't charge a deposit for my medical equipment either, which happens to be a service dog. In general, Gabriel was extremely rude and condescending, and absolutely wrong in his statements regarding my service dog.

It was very late at night when I arrived after a long trip there, and I just didn't have it in me to argue with this man or point out that he violated the law multiple times

I may even contact the general manager of the hotel, the franchise owner, Best Western corporate, and possibly Best Western legal counsel, as this is a legal compliance matter, and it is absolutely not okay. I may report them to the Department of Justice as well, which is where you make complaints for ADA violations.

I liked staying at this hotel because it was convenient and safe, but I will not stand for the treatment I received last time I was there. The last thing a disabled person needs while traveling is to be hassled by the front desk of a hotel. I will definitely be making arrangements with another hotel next time I am in this area.
