After shopping around at a few daycare/boarding places I went with this one and have been very pleased. They have an easy to use online reservation system, an independent/boutique feel, friendly staff who know my dog, and a nice overall space. They often provide anecdotes (and pictures!) about how my dog did during his stay, which shows that they care about my dog and are paying attention to him.

My dog Neptune absolutely loves Barkly. After a solid year at this daycare I can't picture us using another one. He comes back super tired which is awesome as he's a husky. All I have to say to him is "you wanna go to daycare " and he is instantly an excited mess. They send pictures usually every day which is awesome and they do have simple grooming. Neptune and I appreciate all that y'all do! Thank you for taking such great care of my guy.

Ruger is our incredibly sweet, but often anxious, tripod Aussie mix. The staff at Barkly Manor gives him the extra time he needs to warm up and the individualized attention he craves. We recently boarded him for the first time and the daily photos they sent were the highlight of our days away! At the end of his stay, I appreciated that they called to find out when we planned to pick him up so they could time his groom service to avoid any unnecessary time away from the play group. Thank you for taking care of Ruger just like he is your own!

My dog literally drags me in to Barkly Manor because he is so excited! On top of that, when my pup wasn't feeling well one day, Kim called me and took him to the vet right away on an extremely busy holiday. I can tell that she was treating my dog with the same care that she would use on her own. I can't thank them enough! While other places may have fancier amenities, this place truly cares about the dogs they are watching over. The attached picture speaks a thousand words about how my dog feels about spending the day with Kim and the rest of the crew...

Reasonable rates, friendly staff. My dog comes home happy and tired from daycare and I've also used them for boarding. I also love the "report card" feature.

the owner of this facility deleted my review so it has been reposted.

It has taken me a while to come to terms with this and write a review but I felt it was wrong if I did not write one to prevent another family of having to deal with what my family just went through. Unfortunately my dog passed away while under Barkly Manors supervision. My dog was having a medical emergency during the staff lunch/ dog rest time which is a two hour period which occurs only on the weekend from 12pm to 2pm where the dogs are put in their kennels and are unsupervised. At some point during that time period my dog had thrown up and was struggling without any supervision and we do not know what caused this but i have my superstitions. When my dog was let out after 2pm they noticed he was struggling to walk and the staff went in the kennel where he and my other dog were located and noticed there was vomit in the room. From there about twenty minutes had gone by and they “rushed” my dog to the emergency vet but he passed away on the way there. I put rushed in quotations and would use that term loosely because there was no sense of urgency as the man who was taking him was walking slowly, my dog was clearly struggling to walk, and they still made him walk rather than carrying him and trying to keep his heart rate down. My dog weighed 45 to 50 lbs so he wouldn’t be hard to pick up and I know all of this information because the owner sent me the video of him leaving the facility to go to the emergency vet. The owner was nice enough to let us pick up our other dog later that evening after they had closed because we definitely weren’t leaving him there overnight after our other dog had just passed under their watch. When we arrived to pick him up it was very odd, I was expecting to be greeted by the owner to tell us she is sorry, give us a detailed story of what happened, and turns out she wasn’t there even though an animal just died under her businesses watch and instead she made the manager of the day wait for us. Since she was not there we politely got in contact with her and asked her if she’d contact us the following day so we could talk with her. The following day comes around which was Halloween and she texted us rather than calling us and said she is with her kids at school for Halloween in which I told her please be with your kids just give me a call tomorrow. Tomorrow comes around and I wait all day for her call, but hear nothing from her so I pick up the phone the next day and call her which was 3 days after my dog passed under her businesses watch. She claimed that the reason she hadn’t called was she had some emergency with her kid and they were at the hospital all day. The conversation I had with her was just okay and it was hard to tell if she was truly sympathetic or honest. She also took 0 accountability for what happened because she said this is the first time this has ever happened here rather than saying we should’ve been watching them. This place all together is sloppy. They will send you the wrong pictures of dogs that are not your dog, and won’t even provide a description of how they are doing or leave comments while you have them boarded. The owner claims they overstaff but if you over staff why can’t you get pictures right and why is the weekend the only time you do this lunch/ rest break and clearly from the other reviews I’m not the only one who sees this. The cherry on top was my dog passed on a Sunday and that next day i was sent a daily check in with a picture of him which is ironic because the pictures that are sent are supposed to be the daily check ins for the current day. Do yourself and your pups a favor and have someone come to your house or take them somewhere where you pay them and they will actually watch your dog and not leave them unsupervised for two hours in the middle of the day in a kennel. I get the point of a rest break but during business hours they should be watched regularly or at least checked on hourly, if I wanted my dogs not to be watched I would have left them at my house during my trip.
