In over 30 years we have successfully trained five other rescues, but Woody was different

We needed HELP!!!

No drama, not treats, and no e-shock collars required.

We are quickly gaining knowledge and confidence and so is our pup!

He has advised on how to improve nutrition (who knew how important this is!), how to create a safe and secure environment for our highly anxious pup to feel more secure.

Josh has really helped me with the training of my dog, Rusty. Since Josh used to teach and I currently teach we had that in common. During our first meeting, he used a few analogies of teaching students with training dogs. That really helped me understand what to do. I saw a big change in Rusty from the first day on. Not only did I learn so much about dog behavior, but also about nutrition.
You can tell how much he loves dogs by how he treats them. He is calm but also firm when he needs to be. I highly recommend anyone that has a dog to sign up with Josh and Bark Busters. I wish I had signed up sooner.

April 2024: Josh is a gifted trainer (and we have worked with a few!)! From the moment he walked into my home he started teaching us about communicating with our dog in a way that we had never been told to in our 9 years of having her (she has always been a high-maintenance dog). Within the first 10 minutes of our lesson we put his teaching into practice and saw results! He is articulate and explains things in a way that makes it simple, easy to remember and fun. He is realistic about goals and how to achieve them, always keeping the family unit in mind. He has a positive and enthusiastic attitude, I can’t wait to see how our dog and family blossom now that we have Josh “in our pack” to help us rebuild trust and structure.

May 2024: Update…we’ve been working with Josh for several weeks now and have seen drastic improvements with our dog. She’s more responsive to us on leash, guarding the front window less, and overall has more energy since we changed her diet. She’s been kicked out of doggie daycare in the past and shown to have more reactivity with dogs as she’s gotten older. This week Josh met us at a dog park and after doing on leash training outside of the park Josh says to me “let’s go in and walk the path inside”…not once did my dog lunge or even growl at the other dogs! At the end of the day I was so proud of her/us for this monumental accomplishment!
Josh, I can’t thank you enough for coming into our lives and helping our family!

Josh was so clear and instructive that, not only was my very active, huge newfy under control, but I also learned the communication skills I needed to get him to listen to me. I am so appreciative for our lesson. On our first walk, for once, I was able to control him confidently without being pulled over! We were able to get him out of the prong collar and under control in one session. We learned how to use permission dynamics at doors and crates to get him to respect me. This was so important to me, as my two dogs are both 150 pounds of love, and I am in my 80s. Having them under control enables me to keep my dogs and I safe. Thank you so much for your help!
