Anchorage Dog Training -

I called Cat in tears on a particularly rough dog walk last Spring. My new-to-me rescue pup was a nightmare on walks anytime we encountered other dogs or people. Turns out, he was just obsessed with the world and everything in it after a rough start to his life. With Cat's guidance, Chico and I now do laps around University Lake, off leash, multiple times a week. He also goes hiking and backpacking with me. With Cat's help, Chico and I figured out our language. And he learned to dog! If you are hesitating, just do it. You won't regret it!

Cat, the trainer, was wonderful. Our dogs were an absolute disaster with interacting with strangers. After the first session, we already noticed improvements. By the third, things had dramatically improved. Her training is simple and effective. Well worth the investment to secure peace of mind in our home.

Cat was awesome with our new puppy, Lasha!!! She made raising a puppy so much more enjoyable and approachable. We highly recommend her for any type of dog training you could ever need - especially her puppy services. She’s also just a wicked cool individual outside of being the coolest dog trainer ever!

Wonderful trainer! I had two corgi puppies who were experiencing aggression due to being littermates. We went from having about 3 incidents of major aggression a week down to 1 incident in the past 2-3 months with her guidance on how to manage the two dogs. Trust the process and you will find great success! Our two dogs are getting along well and rarely have any issues, but when they do we now understand how to manage it. Overall we saw a vast improvement in our dogs behavior and greatly improved a situation that would not have been sustainable.

Ms. Cathcart is an excellent trainer. I found her to be very knowledgeable about dogs and their language, she's consistent, gentle and, if instruction is followed, the result was immediate. Besides all that she made the experience fun for our canine companions and their hoomans.

Cat is the best. So great to work with and she just gets dogs. She worked magic with our four year old husky/malamute. I don’t know why anyone in Anchorage would go anywhere else for their dog training needs.

Our dog, Luna, had aggressive behavior towards other dogs and so we turned to Anchorage Dog Training. Cat had such amazing advice, coaching, and tactics- within a few days we were seeing extreme improvements. She taught us how to read our dogs' body language and informed us of the many ways we were reinforcing (without even knowing it) her bad behavior. She doesn't use any negative consequences for bad behavior, only positive rewards for good behavior. Using our own body language, we are now able to communicate with our pup and she understands! Overall- Phenomenal experience with Cat! The price is fair and worth it and she will meet you at your house for the first few sessions. She has spent years studying dogs and their behavior and it shows. I can't recommend her enough, especially for dogs with aggressive tendencies. Thank you, Cat! Luna will forever love your pockets full of treats.

As first time dog owners we read lots of articles, training tips, and did obedience class, but Sarah was the best use of time! She really taught us to understand our dogs behavior and motivation, but more importantly taught us how we were reinforcing behavior we didn’t like. It’s made a huge difference for the entire family. On top of that she’s funny, upbeat, supportive, and was always right on time for appointments. We definitely recommend her for any dog owner.
