I wanted to take a moment and commend Stephen, Christine, and the rest of the team at the Northgate Colorado Springs store.

I came in with a broken Craftsman ratchet thinking I would be able to replace it in store under Craftsman's lifetime warranty policy.

They told me unfortunately Craftsman no longer has a policy where in store replacements can happen on older tools and I would need to contact Craftsman directly for replacement.

Instead of saying sorry there's nothing I can do they went out of their way to swap the tool I needed right then and there with no hassle.

This isn't the first time I have had absolutely stellar customer service from this location. It makes me happy knowing this Ace hardware is right down the street from me. Customer service like this is the reason I will continue to come to this store before going to any big box hardware store in the area.

Today, I went to pick up a special paint order my wife placed. As I was leaving, carrying two very heavy (and expensive) 5-gallon buckets, I was repeatedly questioned by a cashier about who, how, and when I paid for the order, despite clearly explaining that it was paid for at the time of ordering—your standard policy, I believe?

This follows an interaction three weeks ago when I asked an employee, "Do you know if your grills typically go on sale around this time of year?" His response was, "Ha... that's way beyond my pay grade. You'll have to talk to a manager or keep checking back."

A month ago, I spent about 10 minutes in the paint department, clearly looking for assistance, but no one approached me. Ironically, it might have been for the best considering my other experiences.

Unfortunately, after three negative encounters, I’ve decided to take my business back to larger stores like Home Depot and Lowe’s, where both the product selection and customer service significantly surpass what I've experienced here.

We have plenty of other options, and the current service doesn't inspire loyalty.

Worst experience. The lady at the cashier register with short black hair, glasses, and overuse of blush on her face was so rude!!! Clearly did not want to be there and did not care to offer a good customer experience. She should be fired. I went in on several occasions to buy items for my house and do a return, and she had the worst attitude when I asked her a question.

I've always had a really good experience at this Ace Hardware. The employees go above and beyond to make sure that you've found what you're looking for, and to make recommendations about things you might need (or, more importantly, things you really don't need). They also make sure that you're getting the best available price, and taking advantage of current sales, discounts, and state incentives such as for buying battery-powered equipment.

Great store. I get my chainsaw chains, kitchen knives, and lawn mower blades sharpened here. Always done right and in a very timely fashion!

Very helpful, competitive prices, good selection. Ace definitely has some strengths in niche areas, like a huge selection of fasteners. But they also offer services unavailable at other hardware stores, like lawnmower blade sharpening. Yes, the Northgate store has been a victim of theft so they have photos of the perps posted, but that doesn’t bother me at all, as it apparently does others. Otherwise the staff is friendly, knowledgeable and eager to help.

Very helpful, made extra copies for my Honda VTX1300R motorcycle key. (Used HD-74 blank) They cut it on a machine that looks like a miniature turning lathe because the new automated machine did not recognize the short factory motorcycle key. Very friendly staff, great workers! Highly recommend this place!
