It truly is a privilege to write a review on a professional that takes such high pride and passion towards his craft, and is a true master of his art. I cannot possibly express how grateful and impressed I am and appreciative of everything that Sean Lunnon did for my family. Sean assisted us a few years ago with a problem we were having with our dog whose extremely sensitive to noises or other dogs and a new challenge came up that we needed help with and again he embraced the challenge and exceeded our expectations. My son who has been living away from home for a few years came to visit us with his girlfriend and they have a very sweet, small dog. Their dog is a 10 pound dog and our dog is a 57 pound dog that is extremely sensitive towards other dogs. Frankly speaking, we were petrified of a confrontation between the two dogs where more than likely the larger dog could inflict a serious or fatal wound to the smaller dog even if the intention was to only give it a warning. Just the difference in size would be overwhelming. On top of fearing for the dogs we feared that the consequence of such a confrontation would impact our relationship with our son and his girlfriend, and that would be irreparable. After a conversation with Sean, he juggled his schedule to make sure he could be at our home to teach us how to control the dogs, to facilitate the introduction of the dogs, and to show us how to safely separate and interact the dogs within the house to avoid any confrontation and allow us to enjoy our family. Sean exceeded our expectations and the dogs are getting along very well. While they are not yet close friends because it’ll take some more time, we are very comfortably coexisting in the home, and the dogs are not even paying attention to each other, and our family is together. I can say with total confidence that within another couple of weeks the dogs will absolutely be friends. Because we are taking it slowly and safely and you cannot put a price on that and we highly recommend Sean with no hesitation to assist you with any challenges you may be having with your dogs. He is the absolute best.

Took my dog Turtle to Sean's Training for a week of "after the basics". After picking her up, I changed things up at home, and the transformation is amazing. Sean has done a great job at training me (and Turtle of course) and helping me understand what my dog needs and doesn't need. Now I just have to be consistent and continue the program . Thank you Sean - Turtle is hardly barking anymore. I highly recommend him, if you have a dog with bad habits.

Over the last two yrs I have worked with
A Breed Apart Dog Training.
And the overall experience has
changed My Life!!
I have a 18 month old chocolate lab named Gambit and from the first day I have been given support from literature to personal conversations on training techniques and how
I deal with things..
Sean has an accountable approach to his training... And it started with Me!!
I being the pack leader have the greatest impact on Gambits life and daily routine...
"Um duh, No kidding right"!
What I mean is, Sean has always taken Gambits needs and actions into account and explained how I affect them and what I Cann do to change them. He's also given feed back on how to listen to what Gambit is actually saying and work with him!
gambit is not a human, He's a K9
and He speak a different language!!

I am Grateful and would recommend
A Breed Apart Dog Training to anyone who wants to have a healthy pack life!

Sean was not the first dog trainer we called. The first one wouldn't even see our dog until she was 6 months (she is 4 currently), and the other never answered the phone or responded to emails. Sean responded immediately and was extremely friendly. We set up an appointment to come out and help out with our dog. Sean was very knowledgeable and helped us address issues we were having and point us in the right direction and let us know what was normal puppy behavior. He also gave us advice for things to work on as she grows and helped us work on her leash pulling and chewing. With the advice and help he provided in just a few hours we were able to majorly improve our puppies chewing, biting, leash pulling and over excitement. When our puppy got tired during the session he also suggested to split up our allotted time and use the rest another time so that we got the most out of the session. Highly recommend!

We decided to contact A Breed Apart based on the great reviews on Yelp. We decided on the "In-home behavior consultation" after reading his service offerings. We adopted Freddie Frito Bandito from a Rescue less than a week ago and although he was having some behavior issues we also needed training! Sean came into our home and did not make eye contact, talk to or touch Frito. This allowed Frito the time to check Sean out and not feel challenged and/or fearful. He talked to us while we sat down at the table. As we talked, Sean took time to explain how dogs communicate in energy and not, of course, in words. He also explained that there are three types of dogs: serious (I forgot the other adjective), happy go lucky & sensitive. Frito is sensitive which means that he is prone to nervousness and anxiety but is also loving and gentle. He is naturally a follower and needs a pack leader. I, in particular, needed to learn how to be a pack leader. Sean showed us how to lead Frito on a leash, take back the territory of our couch and show Frito the crate was a safe and happy place for him. This all happened in our 3-1/2 hour session. For the first time, Frito slept in the crate and without incident. When we woke up he was quiet and waited patiently for us to open the crate. We did the "mental" leash training this morning as Sean showed us and he responded well. The couch is almost ours again. When Frito jumped up this morning we gently corrected him. Using bits of treats as rewards for positive behavior Frito is learning quickly. It is strange to say and it's hard for me to even believe it but Frito's energy has changed overnight - not his energy level, but his being territorial and nervous behavior. It is now our job to provide consistency so Frito can thrive. Sean's company provides follow up phone and email support included with the In-Home Behavior Consultation. Sean's knowledge, experience, compassion, demeanor and true love for all animals makes his services invaluable. Offering follow up help allows us to know that Frito is getting the best care possible as we provide for his needs and welcome him into our family. We are grateful Freddie Frito Bandito found us and we are equally grateful to Sean for giving us the tools to provide a safe, happy home for Frito the thrive in. You need look no further for a true professional who spends quality time first listening then understanding then explaining and showing by example and finally helping the customer put it "into action". We couldn't be more thrilled.

Sean showed up at 11 AM and by 11:03 my dog stopped pulling and obeyed the snap of his fingers. After 4 hours Nala was walking beautifully and learning. Can't wait for future lessons.
