Great free launch ramp when Lake Isabella has high water. As the water level drops the pier is moved to a secondary position but launching becomes more difficult. When the lake drops below 2,560 feet above sea level launching is very difficult but you may find a spot along the shore for a small boat. The entry to the area is dirt; sand and decomposed granite. The parking is mostly firm but there are soft areas that you can get stuck in; 4 wheel drive is useful.

Pretty barren. No public bathrooms. You have to go up into the campgrounds to find a bathroom.
