This place is hands down the best daycare I have found in Los Angeles. Everyone there is amazing. My dog wakes up in the morning and goes straight to the car because she wants to go to Rover Kennels.
The only downside with Rover Kennels is your dog won't like you as much.

Rover Kennels in Santa Monica is a true gem. Our Great Dane (pictured) regularly goes to daycare here (and occasional boarding), and we’ve experienced nothing but exceptional care and service. The staff's friendliness, genuine care, and thoughtfulness are unmatched, and our dog is always excited for her visits. Rover also provides great prices and flexible hours, making it a great option for working pet parents!

I live walking distance from this daycare and now take my dog somewhere further away because of the service from Rover. I hate it because my dog loved this place but it is not worth the headache. I consistently had issues when my dog was boarded, did daycare, or got groomed. I think there is a big miscommunication issue amongst the staff. I even asked to talk to a manager about the issues but never got a follow-up.

TL;DR- Save yourself the trouble and go somewhere else. There are plenty of other places in LA that are cheaper and provide better service.

Common issues:
(a) Departure baths: My dog got the departure bath they advertise about 1 out of every 5 times I picked him up after a boarding. I was always told he wasn't on the schedule or that they forgot, despite the fact the form you sign to check in has you mark whether you want a departure bath and I asked for one every time.
(b) While Boarding: Almost without fail every time I boarded my dog I would receive a call from them asking when I was picking up my dog or they would ask about something I had discussed with the check-in person. They make you tell them when you're picking up the dog when you check in and ask for anything else they should know (and they write it down) so that was incredibly frustrating and led to me losing trust.
(c) I frequently waited upwards of 15-20 minutes for someone to come to the front desk. Calling the number only got them to come up front every so often. The staff was nice enough.
(d) Grooming: I was under the impression that they had grooming notes for each dog that had previously been groomed (that's what I was told) but my dog was either improperly groomed or not groomed at all when I would pick him up. I even started asking the check-in person to confirm the grooming appointment and to confirm what grooming was being done and I was always assured it would be okay but I had an issue literally every single time. I also had a groomer call me individually while on vacation to chastise me for not putting in grooming requests. It was kind of a wild experience.

My sister picked up her dog after the holiday weekend and he was attacked by another dog at this facility. The boarding center never alerted her about any incident and never sought medical attention for him. He’s a 15lb mini doodle who is very very friendly. He came home covered in blood and had to be taken to the vet for antibiotics and wound care.

I noticed some of the comments are really negative .. I am a client who no longer comes here although I was a long time client..

Anyways I loved coming to this location I was always treated with the upmost respect I remember the owners name was Jeff and he had so much love for the dogs he always made sure everyone did there part and did what they had to do for the dogs I noticed they don’t just treat the dogs as dogs they treat them as equal beings. I’m a dog owner and I would never leave my dog in a place for any reason for anything my dog would be happy rather home like what kind of dog owner keeps there dog in a facility 7 days a week remember “Ohana” nobody gets left behind but my dog had a home at Rover for a while too and I just wanted to share my side of rover because there are some disturbing hateful comments that don’t match up from what I have experienced. ❤️
