I can’t say enough good things about Laura and Pet Peeves Training! My partner and I decided to reach out to Laura when it had gotten to the point where we no longer felt safe walking our dog. Our dog had developed reactive behaviors and would resort to growling, lunging, and nipping at us whenever she saw another dog. There were also issues at home including barking, biting furniture for attention, and begging for food to the point where we couldn’t enjoy a calm meal. After our first lesson with Laura, I breathed out a sigh of relief because I could tell she would be able to help. After only 6 lessons, I can enjoy walking our dog again! Laura quickly identified all of the ways that we had been reinforcing our dog’s unwanted behaviors, and after changing a few parts of our dog’s routine, walking gear, and lots of practice walking her correctly, I could see the change. Our dog had so much more confidence in us as leaders, and I have so much more confidence in her to behave appropriately. Laura is so knowledgeable, experienced, and passionate about dogs, and is also an amazing trainer for both her canine and human clients. I can safely walk my dog again, but I also feel like I came out of the process as a better dog handler for life. We are so pleased with the results, and we can’t wait to continue lessons with Laura again to focus on some more advanced training or maybe a group class to continue learning and improving our dog’s life. Laura is an absolute gem! We cannot thank Laura enough- prior to starting training, Russell would jump on my partner and I, place paws on the counter top, nibble/play bite, and pull during walks. Just from Russell’s FIRST private training out of six, we were able to eliminate a majority of Russell’s problematic behaviors with Laura’s expertise and guidance in using verbal command, body language, leash work, and many many more! Fast forward to today, Russell is a joy to bring on family trips, daily walks around the neighborhood, and most importantly Russell knows his place command when guests and company are over our house. Our goal was for Russell to be completely imbedded in our lives and Laura was able to help us achieve that! We will continue to work with Laura so Russell can continue to be a gentleman pup! Seriously, what are you waiting for? If you are looking for a great trainer, look no further. Make. The. Call. We adopted our dog (Truffle) about a year ago and he was calm for about two weeks. After that, he has been difficult. Sweet at times but at other times....really, really terrible. We've had other dogs but Ttuffle was like no other. So, enter Laura. Our dog had problems with chewing, jumping, barking, mouthing, attention seeking, pulling, reactivity, etc. You name it, we had it. But then, sometime he would just curl up next to me and somehow the world was right. Well, Laura gave me the tools to handle the behavior issues. He's not perfect yet but he's a whole lot better than the pre-Laura Era. From the moment Laura walked into our home, Truffle was barking and jumping on her. We had finished a 6 week obedience course at Petsmart and we still weren't able to control the jumping. Within 5 minutes, probably less, Laura had Truffle quiet and sitting at her feet. That was just the beginning.
They say pet trainer are really training the owners and I truly believe that. I realized the lack of respect that Truffle had for me. He loved me but knew he could get away with a lot more with me. A master manipulator! Much of what is published online did not work with what we were dealing with. With Laura's guidance and support much of what we were dealing with has been remedied. A million thanks yous, Laura! You are a life saver (ours and Truffle's). And if you're still reading....BOOK NOW.

Laura has done wonders for us and our two Corgis. Their reactivity and anxiety has been going steadily down since we started working with Laura. The pups are learning new behaviors and habits, and growing in ways that we didn't think were possible 6 months ago. We have a 1 year old very anxious pit mix with all kinds of problems. She has been pulling on leash, barking at other dogs, growling and nipping at strangers. Scared about everything. We took her to a very well known dog training facility for several months and nothing had changed. Then I found Pet Peeves Training online! I got a positive feeling at the first free phone consultation. Laura explained to me what we have to do to fix my dog's behavior. Then She came to our house and taught us how to control the bad behavior and correct them right at the spot. It was like magic! From the very next day, we could control her bad behavior. We recently adopted a large mixed breed puppy and turned to Laura for help setting him (and us!) up with some good habits. Over the course of 3 hour-long Zoom lessons, we have been able to address and rectify his pulling on a leash, possessive tendencies, and his responsiveness to commands. Pet Peeves trains the dog and the owner! My dog Duke was out of control and freaked out when ever he encountered another dog. It was miserable to take him anywhere there were other dogs. My son finally talked me into getting training and Laura taught my old dog new tricks. Also taught me that it is my responsibility to let Duke know I am in charge! I have the tools and skill to walk Duke confidently down the street knowing what to do when he disobeys. Laura is worth every penny and I wish I started training with her 5 years ago!

I rescued my dog after he went through a bit of trauma. He was with us 2 years before my older, alpha male, passed. He has always been quirky but my dogs passing made him more uncontrollable. Within 1 meeting with Laura she was able to assist me in implementing small, manageable, and meaningful techniques. I have tried various other trainers and none were able to assist useful insight or techniques but did take my money. I feel 10x more confident taking him places and can read his needs a lot better now.
