Brett is exceptional at what he does and completely changed our perspective about dog training. We had been struggling with our reactive dog for almost a year until we found Brett. Our first session was eye opening and I’ll never forget our conversation about helping dogs live in our human world. He came to our home in West Hollywood for several sessions before we started to venture out in new places around LA. Our dog is MUCH happier and our bond with her is much stronger after our time with Brett. His group classes were also immensely helpful.

Almost three years after we had first met Brett, we reached out for advice for our new puppy. We had moved to a different state, but he was still able to help via video calls! We feel very lucky to have worked with Brett and will be forever grateful for his help.

We just finished our training sessions with Brett / The Dog Savant, and I wanted to pen a review while it was still fresh in my mind.

Brett’s training was highly effective for our reactive dog, and has allowed him to lead a calmer and better adjusted existence. He still has work to do, but Brett has given us the right tools to move forward on our own, and clear instructions to consistently apply them.

Brett takes a no-nonsense approach to his teaching, and he expects real effort from both his animal and human clients to achieve the desired results.

I would highly recommend Brett’s services to anyone looking for help with their dog. He always permeates a deep care and respect, and is clearly passionate about his work.

Brett came to our house for a ninety 90 minute session to help us with our two year old Shaffordshire Terrier/Dalmatian mutt mix. Scout had started getting aggressive with delivery people and other visitors to the house, as well as too aggressive on walks. In 90 minutes, Brett gave us easily to understand and remember and use guidelines and instruction that made an immediate difference. His methods training us owners were straightforward, easy to understand and easy to follow. he also gave us an email with links to the equipment he recommended, making it so easy to purchase. Brett was a game changer for us and for our little man!!!

Brett is the real LA Dog Whisperer! My dog was so aggressive towards other dogs and people that I ended up having to walk him early in the morning and late at night to avoid any bad situation. I hired another trainer who wouldn't even talk about the problem and just used a bunch of treats that seemed to only make my dog excited or upset. The vet told us put the poor dog down because there was too many problems. This was so upsetting because I knew he was a good boy and totally misunderstood. I called Brett and he immediately seemed like he knew exactly what was going down and was experienced with these type of behaviors. We talked for nearly 20 minutes!
He came over and took charge immediately! As soon as he started working with Spencer he seemed like a different dog! Brett explained how his problems weren't what they seemed and he just needed to learn how to process information differently to not become so overstimulated which was causing his aggression and anxiety in the 1st place. He is continuing to teach me how to make the changes needed to continue his rehabilitation process. As a professional, Brett genuinely cares about dogs and his clients. He is always on time and passionate about what he does. I have been working together for about a month now and he's a solid guy!

I started seeing improvements in my dog's behavior after just one private session with Brett. The main issue I was having with my dog was his overexcitement, which translated to pulling on the leash, jumping up on people, being unable to relax when I was interacting with other people (i.e. getting coffee with a friend), etc. Brett taught me several techniques that quickly corrected many of these problems and also taught me to better understand my dog and his needs. It is clear that Brett is passionate about dog training and understands dogs well. He is also extremely professional and was always on time to our sessions, if not a few minutes early. I don't often write reviews but every once in a rare while I encounter a person, product, or service so exceptional I feel I owe it to the world to get the word out. Brett is just such a find. He has an astonishingly profound understanding of what makes dogs tick and how to fix problems that no other trainers will touch. We have a rescue dog with big aggression issues and Brett got right to the core of the problem, explained everything to us in comprehensible, accessible terms and gave us exercises to use to break bad habits and teach new positive behaviors. If you have a dog, you owe it to them and yourself to seek out Brett and finally understand what real dog training is all about. Highly, unequivocally, and unreservedly recommended!

Brett is the best. My dog Rita loves him. I had all but given up on my dog ever getting house trained. But after just a couple of sessions with Brett not only was Rita well on her way to being housebroken but she was going on walks and heeling, sitting, lying down, and staying on command.
