Life savers! My hubby and I are novices and needed a lot of help with our pup Finley. He is a sweetheart but was overly excitable around other people and animals. He also didn't know a lot of the basic obedience commands. We did a consultation with Matan and they recommended a two week board and train. That was the best investment we have ever made. The difference was night and day. He went from a dog that would lunge away when on leash to staying put off leash at Michael's (yes the craft store). Matan sent me the video to prove it! They are consummate professionals and are so nice! We didn't finish our puppy head-start program with LA School for Dogs because the owner would talk down to us. Matan is the complete opposite! We are forever grateful to Matan and will continue working with them.

I spent a solid month researching and connecting with different trainers and couldn't be happier with Matan Dog Training! My pup came from a shelter where he was euth-listed for being aggressive. A rescue pulled him from the shelter after interacting with him and seeing he was mainly anxious/scared/high energy.

Around the time I took him to Matan Dog Training, walks were impossible - he would bark/lunge at people, try to chase down bikes/motorcycles, show teeth especially at kids, and literally drag me down the street. I couldn't have anyone over to my house and I gave up on dog walkers who complained about how difficult he was outside the home.

Jump to now (a month out of a 3 week board and train) - I can take him ANYWHERE. He focuses on me, follows commands, and doesn't enter/exit a door without a command. He still gets excited around other dogs and people, but has learned to control his energy and look to me for commands to interact. My friends and family can't believe this is the same dog!!

The entire staff at Matan's is TOP notch! Matan was honest with me during the consultation and explained why my dog would need 3 weeks in training. Each week, when I attended a private training session, I saw the progress he initially outlined for me and he was spot on! Most importantly, the methods he uses are all positive and focus on redirecting the dog's focus to the owner. So many other trainers use shock collars/punishment/pain and I was not on board with that AT ALL.

Matan's office staff was super responsive. Spencer kept me updated almost daily with my dog's progress. He answered all of my questions (even on weekends/odd hours) and was super accommodating of my work schedule when scheduling 1:1 training sessions.

Rafael (my dog's primary trainer) was AWESOME! He really loves dogs and treated my dog like his own. He made the training principles easy to understand and explained to me what behaviors to anticipate when I transition my dog home and how to correct them. And most impressive, he picked up on the subtle changes I needed to make (like tone of voice, where to stand, etc) that broke the bad habits I created in the past and made my dog follow me.

We brought Percy home after a two week board & train with Matan Dog Training a few days ago. Spenser & Bailey handled communications like pros. Answering our questions, and giving us tips before drop off. They coordinating all meetings and sent updates during Percy's stay.

Matan saved our home, our relationship, and our dogs. Best money we've ever spent.

We recently rescued two 9-month old cattle dog sisters. We did NOT know what we were getting into, they ran our house and we could not get them to listen to anything we said. They were also very leash reactive to other dogs. They were so reactive we had to take them on separate walks, which was difficult. We had an in person consultation with Matan and he explained that two sisters is very difficult because they have bonded with each other, and will struggle with human connection/ bonding/ training. We immediately agreed to 2 weeks of boarding/ training for both of them.

OH MY GOODNESS ARE THEY DIFFERENT DOGS! They now know commands, listen, and are manageable. We have the sweetest dogs but they needed a lot of care & training, and Matan (and his team!) really followed through. We had 2 training sessions (one during and one after the boarding) with the dogs and Matan to learn the commands and skills to handle the most common situations (when they get leash reactive, when they jump on humans, when they need to sit still while you work, etc.).

The training really helped us as a family use a common language with our dogs to build consistency, and keep up the training when they are home. We love our dogs, and Matan really helped us bond, connect, and build a better life as a doggy family.

I added a new puppy (German Shepherd) to our family and he just returned from a two week board and train with Matan Dog Training. He is doing really solid healing, sit, down and stay. Its very hard to get impulse control for a 5 1/2 month old dog (who also already weighs 62 pounds) and he got a great foundation. Both Spencer and Bailey who are day to day contacts are phenomenal. The team also has day care where my older Shepherd has been going and Michael is simply remarkable. My older dog had a pack of little dogs charge her and she is very unsure all dogs are nice -- but he had her playing with multiple dogs, calmly and happily within minutes. We did our first training session with Tiffany who is also great. Years of experience and working with dogs. I'm continuing with more privates (so I get trained too and am consistent) and group classes to help build long term success.

We are so happy to have Matan and his team in our lives! We rescued Hudson (age 4) a little over two years ago, during COVID and he had a few issues, mostly stemming from a lack of confidence and socialization. He was very reactive to other dogs, and we needed help managing him. After a private consultation with Matan, we signed up for the Advance Obedience Training package (8 private + 8 group). The sessions were always very hands-on and the feedback was invaluable. Matan not only built up Hudson’s confidence, but ours by providing us the tools to be the leader he needed.

Since our initial lessons with Matan, we’ve continued to bring Hudson back to work with other trainers (Rafi and Jillian) whom he loves. They are all very knowledgeable, engaged, and most importantly, they care about dogs. With MDT’s help and our consistent training, Hudson has made so much progress. His reactions to other dogs and humans have improved tremendously. We’re so grateful for MDT and would highly recommend them!
