Mira Mesa handled me and my dog (a difficult client) graciously. I am looking after my older parents' dog, who was never properly socialized, so I can't exactly fix her behavior overnight, nor can I neglect her vet appointments. So I'm in a bit of a bind, having to take a reactive dog to a very public place. Nevertheless, the employees tried to do what they could to separate us from other dogs.

I was recommended teeth cleaning. Had no problem booking a consult and a follow up appointment, and I was always shown the estimate before I signed anything.

It would be nice if my pet's vax information was always up to date, but! hot tip for the people leaving reviews: the individual practices aren't responsible for that.. So be nice lol. As long as they have you on file AT the location, it gets easier. I think the vet department here is doing very well.

The vet (a guy, I can't remember his name) gave me a run for my money and scared the heck out of me. He told me my male kitten had a testical that wasn't dropped and told me if I didn't get it surgically removed that it could cause cancer. Then he checked him again and felt the second one. He put my baby in distress twice which was completely unnecessary. My baby was uncomfortable as is. Will never be going to a Petco Vet Hospital again. It's extremely over priced as well.

5-star review would be to Dr. Peggy Hsu for her dedication and professionalism. Her report on my dog, Roxy, after her examination is thorough, excellent explanation. Her treatment for flea, tick, and heartworm for Roxy has proven successful.
She has a license for a professional vet. The license number was printed on the report.
I'm very happy with Petco's business at 92126. But at Vetco Total Care here, I've been surprised why they hired some vet who doesn't possess a license. That is why some pet's parent reviewed only 1 star in the review!
I didn't give a bad review for this doctor without license but people visit this place should care about it. Very important! This doctor prescribed a treatment for flea by searching online with medication that is not suggested by the office like doctor Hsu. He also removed 4 teeth of my dog at the same time. I trusted him and suffered a lot. Everything can be proven in my pet visit history of Vetco Total Care in 92126. The office can look at it any time.

I was migrated from Thrive to Vetco at the Mira Mesa location. Didn’t think much of it. But I am very disappointed with the lack of continuity in my dogs medical care in the last year. I have spent over $6,103.00 and the vet yesterday, (it seems to be different staff every 1-2 visits), she wanted to perform the same dry eye test my dog has had twice! I am tired of spending money as a “vital care” customer thinking vet visits are free for $21 a month, only to have multiple and I mean multiple tests conducted at our expense. $2000. In unnecessary blood tests alone last year. They don’t keep their own records up to date because I have reviewed emails saying my dogs shots lare due when she is current. That should have been an indicator all along that they are “Learning veterinarians and staff” and not designed for ongoing care for continuity.

Sierra and Dr. Scott are the best! It was my first time at this vet and they made me feel so comfortable about my dog’s treatment plan. 100% transparent with what needs to happen to ensure the health of my dog as well as how much it will cost. My dog also felt really comfortable within seconds of meeting them which just goes to show how much they care about the animals that come in to see them! THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU 🙂
