Riley loves his trainer Tim! We were so nervous at first and wanted to make sure we were starting the right training program for our pup. Tim exceeded all our expectations. His patience and expertise have made a huge difference in Riley's behavior and our confidence as dog owners. Tim's approach has been so effective for Riley, and he’s always SO excited to see him when we drop him off. We couldn't be happier with the results and highly recommend Tim to anyone looking for a dedicated and skilled dog trainer.

Tim and McKayla have completely given back my ability to love for our dog Ryder! Our story: We were a family of young kids who decided to get a puppy (wow talk about work!). We had never owned a puppy let alone with 2 small kids and just were at a loss in how to properly communicate with Ryder. It was overwhelming. I knew I had to make a change and find a place that would give me the tools, resources and confidence where I can have the relationship I want with our dog. The moment I met Tim in person, I was committed! No judgement from him just complete confidence that he could help. He has seen it all. After the first training with McKayla, I was blown away. We signed up for the 6 weeks for Ryder to learn and get acclimated to public environments like coffee shops etc. I love that our family was still very much a part of the process with training Ryder. Tim and McKayla gave us all the tools and guidance needed for Ryder and us. It’s a training for you and your dog, and I loved that aspect. I still am in disbelief at the dog I have now, from where we were 3 months ago! My highlights coming out of the training are the ability to take him for walks with minimal reactivity to other dogs and ability to be off leash in the right environment , go to brewery’s, have him at Thanksgiving dinner at a family’s house and just living with us as part of our family are huge wins!

I don’t usually post reviews on any platforms. However, if you have a reactive dog and have been struggling to train them like myself, please give Tim (sit means sit) a chance. The result for my dog is unbelievable.

We have a reactive dog, does not like other dogs or men in general. We adopted her 6 years ago and went through at least 4 training programs and spent thousands of dollars over the years; nothing worked until Tim stepped in. Our dog bonded with Tim within a week, we have never seen her felt comfortable with any male trainers. She would run to Tim as soon as she sees him. I am so appreciative of Tim and the training program. If I’m honest, I was a bit nervous and skeptical of the e-collar. I even tested it on myself just to be safe… our dog gets so excited when she sees the collar because she knows it’s time to go outside and have fun.

It’s been 2 years since we completed the training program with Tim. We just got back from a trip to PA. We were able to let her off leash, run around and have fun. She is doing so good with the recall. She still has some barking accidents with other dogs, but immediately stops when we call her name and click the remote. We went through so many different trainings prior to this. This program is the only one that actually worked; best purchase ever.

As a first time dog owner, I got referrals to many dog trainers. Tried two before going to Sit means Sit without even being close to where I wanted be with my dog’s obedience. Tim stated to work with my dog and after couple of classes you could see trainings are working. My dog lived to go yo the class snd this was the sign that the training was not with aggressive approaches, in contrary of the previous place I took him. On first meeting Tim said that he will be our dog’s trainer forever and I still take my dog to his group classes, call him for questions and concerns I have and he always makes himself available to help. Forgot to mention that I am taking my second dog to his classes snd will in the future if I have more dogs. Many thanks for all your support Tim.

I’m so thankful for Tim and the team at Sit Means Sit San Diego. I brought my mini goldendoodle, Oliver, to Tim when he was a little over 5 months old. I signed up for the once a week for four week package which included a full day of training one day a week for four weeks and a year of group training. At the conclusion of each training day, Tim shows you what your dog has learned and covers what they went over throughout the day so you can go home and practice for the following week. When the weekly trainings are over, you start attending group classes on Saturday. The group classes are SO beneficial and help you continue to sharpen your training and overall relationship with your dog. Over a year later and I still try to do them any weekend I have a free Saturday morning.

Tim’s guidance and tools set you up for success. He truly loves dogs and is always available for questions and concerns. He takes the time to understand you and your dog and what your goals for training are. He makes training feel manageable and not overwhelming and gave me the confidence to know that Oliver and I could have success.

I can’t stress enough how much I recommend this training program. I plan to do it for every future dog I own. If you’re on the fence, look no further. It is worth the investment. With Tim and SMS and a little hard work and commitment, you will be so pleased with the outcome and your dog will thank you too.

If you're looking for an obedience training program that will teach you and your pup to be successful, I highly recommend Sit Means Sit and Tim's team! As soon as I picked up my 8 week old Belgian Malinois, I began searching for the right training program. I met with Tim weeks before we could start training, and from the start he was professional and very insightful to prepare me for obedience training. Tim and his team are honest and provide an immense amount of support to ensure you and your pup are supported and successful. One of my favorite things about working with Sit Means Sit is the ongoing Saturday morning obedience sessions. If you are committed to the ongoing practice of teaching your pup, the obedience training and tools you learn from Tim and his team work! I'm very grateful for the encouragement and enthusiasm from Tim!

I highly recommend Tim and his team at Sit Means Sit. Our 11 month old mini golden doodle puppy Taimi was a terror and completely unable to be trained at home like our previous dogs. Taimi did a 2 week immersion and his behavior was completely changed. We were so impressed we brought in our 7 year old Cavapoo Zojja for training so he could understand the same commands we give Taimi.

Our experience with Tim at Sit Means Sit San Diego has been nothing short of miraculous. When we first introduced our rescue, Kooper, to Tim, we were in over our heads. Kooper was extremely reactive - his triggers ranged from other dogs to people, and even bikes. It felt like navigating a minefield every time we stepped outside. We were desperate for a solution, not just for our peace of mind, but more importantly, for Kooper's happiness and well-being.
Tim's approach to our dilemma was transformative. His profound understanding of dog psychology and his patient, consistent guidance has revolutionized our daily lives. Tim didn't just train Kooper; he educated us. He helped us understand the "whys" behind Kooper's behavior and equipped us with the tools and knowledge to foster a positive environment for Kooper to thrive in.
The change in Kooper is astounding. The dog that once lunged and snapped at anything that moved now enjoys long, peaceful walks on the beach. While Kooper may not be ready to mingle with every dog he encounters, his aggression has significantly diminished. He no longer tries to lunge and bite. This change alone has opened up a new world for us and Kooper, where walks are no longer a source of anxiety but an opportunity to explore and enjoy.
Most importantly, Kooper is happy. He has settled into his forever home with a sense of calm and contentment that we once thought was impossible. The difference in his demeanor is a testament to Tim's expertise and the effective, compassionate training methods employed by Sit Means Sit.
To anyone feeling discouraged by their dog's reactivity or anxiety, know that there is hope. Tim and the Sit Means Sit team can truly make a significant difference. Our journey with Kooper is a testament to the fact that with the right help, you too can have a "damn good dog." Our heartfelt thanks go to Tim and everyone at Sit Means Sit San Diego. Your dedication to transforming the lives of dogs and their families is truly commendable.
