I am so happy that I found Chelsea and Sammie to help with my baby's training. My pup came over from South Korea and has a lot of fear. Because of this, he's been exceedingly difficult to train and bring out into public. He particularly struggles with dogs and newpeople. With Chelsea and Sammie's help, Joon is more neutral and calm in situations. I was able to take him out to eat in public and he sat there without any issue. It was nice eating a meal in peace - we almost forgot he was there! In addition, we passed by two reactive dogs but Joon kept his focus on me the whole time. This was never the case prior to training. Chelsea and Sammie are super patient and kind and really take their time to assess each dog and figure out their unique needs. They also teach responsible use of the ecollar and prong collar and personally, I feel like my dog is now much happier with having a sense of direction and common language between us.

This experience has been life changing! I did the 4-week board and train program with my two dogs. The way Rock-em approaches training is with love and care for the full well being of your pet. Though I was a bit apprehensive to leave my fur babies for a full 4 weeks, it was a million percent worth it. Both of my dogs came back home feeling much more confident with the world around them, which lead to much better behavior. They are able to be around so many more distractions without being reactive. It is a joy to walk them together without the worry of being out-numbered. I look forward to where they will be a year from now, as every day is a new day being able to build a stronger relationship with my dogs. Thank you Chelsea and Sammy. It was a very hard decision for me to send my dog to a board and train program, but Sammy always made me feel reassured and she is so incredibly knowledgeable. I struggled to walk my miniature dachshund as she was fearful of new people and dogs especially when they were walking behind her. She would plant on the ground and refuse to walk until they passed and were farther away. In the program, my dog made a great friend with another dog and I could tell she was enjoying herself a lot. They took her on pack hikes and walks to increase her confidence and recall. They also worked on her loose leash walking skills and she is now able to walk past everything easily. We still have some work to continue with her, but we have a clear communication system now that I am forever grateful for. They truly care about your dogs while in their care and I’m so happy I chose to have my dog stay and train with them. Sammy also takes the most beautiful photos of your dog!

I highly recommend Sammy & Chelsea as dog trainers. I did a three week board and train in December 2022 and just completed a follow up training with Sammy in June 2023.

Prior to the board & train, we worked with a trainer and were happy with the progress, but wanted a bit more to help with his reactivity on leash. Koda was attacked by another dog when he turned one and with Covid, we couldn’t walk past one dog without him going crazy - lunging, barking & having to drag him away.

After six months and continuing to work on what Sammy built as a foundation at his board and train, Koda is doing really well. His reactivity is truly night and day, and we finally have the tools to help him be successful in situations when we’re in public and he’s on leash.

As an added bonus, Sammy helped strengthen Koda’s recall and taught him how to drop his ball at our feet which we’ve been trying to do for five years. Overall, Sammy tailors each dogs session to their needs and we couldn’t be happier. She truly allowed us to give Koda a better life and we couldn’t recommend Rockem more!

Partnering with Rockem has been the most important and beneficial investment we have made as dog parents. Our Buddy is a sweet and smart Aussie, who had an anxious and impulsive temperament from the beginning. Over time these manifested into some pretty challenging and at times reactive behaviors. We found some support through group classes and individual sessions with other trainers, but continued to struggle with managing and supporting him effectively in all areas. Buddy spent four weeks with Chelsea and the Rockem team for his board and train program, and we just recently had our first follow up session. The foundations they set and skills they’ve helped us with to maintain his training at home have helped us make tremendous progress. We’ve seen great improvement in the most challenging areas, but have found that even our everyday lives together are more enjoyable as a family with the tools and structure Rockem has helped set for us. Chelsea has also been available for consultation and problem solving with us as we navigate his continued training at home. We feel so supported and confident in Buddy’s continued learning.

We would whole-heartedly recommend Rockem to any dog parents thinking about seeking training opportunities. Reflecting on our experiences so far, I only wish we had begun the process sooner ourselves!

I felt very fortunate to have found Sammy one month after adopting my pup Rio from the county shelter (when he was just 11 weeks old). Thru her Puppy Start program, Sammy helped me regain a semblance of normalcy back in my life, all the while successfully managing various struggles associated with puppyhood.

Sammy is very eloquent in her science based explanations for both canine behavior modification as well as nutritional science. Her balanced training methods were humane and extremely effective, one can clearly sense her passion and love for all dogs. The no-non sense approach resonated with those of my own personal upbringing.

In addition, after Rio completed "board and train" with Sammy during the first 3 weeks of June, 2022, I have one of the healthiest (thanks to her recommendation and assistance switching over to raw feeding), as well as well behaved dogs amongst my family and circle of friends.

Rio just turned one-year old earlier this month, to this day he gets complimented by strangers in public for being so well-behaved and trained. We could not have done this without Sammy's help.

Our pup Jules is doing so well thanks to Chelsea at Rockem. Dog Training. Julian was a “backyard” puppy who we purchased out of the back of a truck. We were told she was a lab shepherd mix and 12 weeks old but she was really more like 24 weeks old with no training. Very sweet, non aggressive but full of energy and we lacked dog training skills. A friend recommended Chelsea and we are so very grateful for her support. Jules had 4 weeks of training at 6 months of age and another 2 weeks of e-collar training one month later and is doing fantastic. Great on walks, we can take her to restaurants and are teaching her to paddle board. Thank you Chelsea for teaching us doggie language and always being available to answer questions. Best decision and she is the best dog we have ever had!!

Sammy has completely changed me and my puppy’s lives with the amazing training and other services her and her partner Chelsea have provided to us. I chose a board and train program for my reactive, high energy, unmanageable five month old puppy in desperate need of help and my puppy came back two weeks later a completely different, more fulfilled, calm dog! I sent her back for further training with an e collar and both of these women are so accommodating and knowledgeable and explained the training and process clearly and made it easy to continue at home. They love their training dogs like their own and take amazing care of them while also providing continued support once the training program is complete! I would recommend them to everyone who need a little or a lot of help with any behavioral issues or training basics. I am so lucky me and my pup Molly found them and have gotten to work with Sammy while learning so much! Not to mention they take the cutest photos of your pooch!
