My dog has more fun with Kathleen than I do on vacation, lol! Would give 6 stars. Can confirm other reviews about the care she gives and her reliability. With her vet tech experience she understands pet health and behavior, which is so helpful in easing any concerns i have. Highly recommended.

Kathleen is my dog Athena's bonus mom and Athena can NOT WAIT to get to her house for her stays away from home when I'm out of town! Kathleen's dog Sanza is Athena's bestie and she spends her time permanently attached to Sanza when she visits. Kathleen is not only an amazing caretaker she is truly part vet with her years of experience. She picks up on minor changes in Athena's health before they ever get to be bigger problems. You won't find a more amazing, loving caretaker for your pet than Kathleen!

I travel a lot, so it is important for me to have a reliable resource I can depend on to check in on my two cats when I'm away. I was so used to having to coordinate with friends and neighbors who aren't even pet owners just to have someone I trusted to be in my home who was available (especially when I was new in town). I honestly didn't even know Cat sitting visits was a thing (and they do reptiles, birds and other small mammals too).

Kathleen's Critters has been a fantastic resource for me. I love that I can be away without worrying about anything and they even send pictures & video updates for added peace of mind (kitty photoshoots is a fun, unexpected bonus haha). My cats, Nix & Boots, can be shy and hide around new people. Kathleen has a wonderful energy about her and they warmed up to her for petting (even offering belly rubs!). I really appreciate that Kathleen and her staff have play time with some of their toys during the visits rather than just feeding them.

Kathleen has such a great energy with our dog Gordie his true personality shines through when he is in her care. What more can an animal owner ask for when they trust another with their furry baby?
Kathleen even picked up on Gordie’s nickname and refers to him as that- LilG!!!

We are so grateful we found Kathleen's Critters. We moved to San Diego before the pandemic and did not do any traveling for a long time. When we did travel, we found pet-friendly hotels and brought our 12-year-old dog Yogi along with us.

But then our son invited us on a 3-day camping trip with our grandkids, and the site did not allow pets. So that set us on a hunt for a boarding service.

We saw a reference to Kathleen's Critters on a local Facebook group page, and there were many positive comments, so we decided to give her a try.

When we reached out, she responded promptly. She asked us some questions about Yogi and and then soon got back to us with a recommendation for where she thought Yogi would enjoy staying.

Kathleen matched us with the most wonderful retired couple. To make sure the match was comfortable for everyone, Kathleen arranged for all of us to meet together at the couple's home on an afternoon before our trip. It was a great visit. The couple asked many questions and took detailed notes to make sure they would be able to provide the best care for Yogi.

We felt so at ease leaving Yogi in the care of his new 'grandparents.' The couple even texted us photos of Yogi while we were away, which was so fun and heart warming. They sent pictures of him out on a walk, playing tug-of-war, and doing his favorite thing: snoozing under a chair.

We will definitely depend on Kathleen's Critters the next time we travel cannot bring our dog along with us. We highly recommend her service to others.

Kathleen is a wonderful pet sitter. She took care of my middle-aged (and later, senior and chronically ill) dog any time we went out of town and always sent regular updates, communicated about any concerns or questions she had, and took great care of our dog. When our dog was in the last months of her life, she was on a lot of medication and required a special care due to a cystostomy tube that needed regular emptying, and Kathleen took great care of her when we had to leave town for a few days. There is no one else I would have trusted our dog with, due to Kathleen's history as a vet tech and knowledge about veterinary medicine. She has always acted with professionalism and thoughtfulness- and she's great at getting dogs to pose for pictures! I would recommend her services to anyone.
