I loved working with Ellis! Worth every penny and I gained incredible, evidence-based insight on dog behavior. Ellis teaches you how to solve problematic dog behaviors by understanding dog signals and finding better ways to communicate with dogs using positive training techniques. I wish all dog owners had access to this style of training and dog psychology because he teaches you how to create a happier and low-stress environment that all dogs deserve.

We loved working with Ellis. He helped our dog learn doggy social skills and overcome her separation anxiety. Her (and our) life has improved significantly since we’ve worked with him. We also enjoyed learning a lot about dog psychology in the process. I would definitely recommend his services!

Ellis is so great to work with - he has been an amazing resource for us with multiple dogs. They are flexible with scheduling and his methods are exactly what we were looking for. We love his approach of understanding the 'why' of what dogs are doing and the nuances of how they communicate and their behavior. Ellis at The Good Dog is hands down the best dog trainer in the state of Alaska. He uses science based methods that build trust and communication between dogs and there owners. Ellis addresses everything from reactivity to separation anxiety and everything else in between. There really aren’t words for how amazing he is at his job. If you need a dog trainer, don’t waste your time looking elsewhere.

I got a rescue dog who had been abused and neglected. He was frightened and aggressive, and very reactive to other dogs, people and moving vehicles. I almost gave him back in the first two weeks because he pulled me over several times and I got injured. Ellis taught me how to create a safe environment for my dog where he can be the sweet, cooperative and playful dog he was meant to be. Through Ellis' teaching and coaching I have also learned how to help my dog respond to triggers in a healthy way. Life is so much better for me and my dog!!!
