I recently adopted a little rescue dog. Jodi at furever home Dog Training is awesome, she specializes in "scared dogs", those who most likely have had very little human contact. She was very thorough and knowledgeable. She not only gets to know the dogs, she takes the time to get the human. She gave me multiple tools to help me train and make my little pup comfortable I recommend her if need training for any dog.

My husband and I first met Jodi about three months ago when we started volunteering working with her scared dogs to help get them acclimated to humans so they could eventually get adopted. We were so amazed at her dedication and love for these dogs. Jodi has a wealth of knowledge regarding dog behavior. We adopted one of her scared dogs a week ago. We took her training class before bringing our dog home. Her knowledge and techniques have been a tremendous help in getting our dog acclimated to his new home and us. We also appreciated that Jodi was always available to answer any questions or concerns we had after bringing our dog home. Jodi is extremely knowledgeable when it comes to training. I rescued a dog with major separation anxiety and she not only worked with him but also taught me so much to keep up with his progress. We adopted a 9 month old puppy from a rescue. She had many fear based behaviors. We thought we were supporting her well until small scuffles started occurring between her and our current 11 y/o dog. This caused visible anxiety for our older dog. We reached out to Jodi and she was very responsive. She gave us immediate directions until our in person appointment. Those small changes (not petting or greeting the puppy until she was calm, etc) made an impact. Jodi was punctual for our in home appointment. She has a very calming presence about her! She observed our dog's behavior while teaching us more about the dog psyche. She gave us clear instructions, with explanations as to why, to implement right away. We are carrying through on these exercises for 2 weeks then will reevaluate next steps with Jodi. After our appointment my husband and I reflected on how our behaviors that we thought were supportive were actually causing more harm. Before reaching out to Jodi we were contemplating if our puppy was a good fit for the family but now we feel confident with small changes on our part she will be a great addition! Thank you Jodi!

Jodi is an amazing dog trainer and an amazing human being. She cares so deeply about the dogs and their families. We found Jodi through the dog rescue that I also volunteer for. One of the dogs that we adopted had the most severe separation anxiety that we had ever seen. We called Jodi in a total panic and weren't sure what to do with him. She took him into her home for a board and train program and he returned home about 2 weeks later a completely different dog. He is trained with basic manners, he can be alone and not scream and cry and he an amazing little dog now. I was afraid that with the ideology of a dog trainer that he would be not loved on, and that was simply not true. Jodi gave Cooper the most love possible, she snuggled him, rocked him in a rocking chair and trained him amazingly. Jodi uses positive reinforcement and the dogs are never scared or nervous. She is amazing and I recommend her, above any other dog trainer.

On December 12, 2023, we knew it would be a challenge to adopt 2 female Maltese mix puppy mill dogs (Chloe & Dallas renamed Bella & Bailey).
With Jodi’s help and advice we were given the tools we would need to make this adoption a successful one. The progress the girls made in the first 2 weeks was amazing considering their background. They are making huge attempts at trusting us, have started to accept walking on a leash and are making great strides with housebreaking. They play everyday with each other and are truly like sisters.
We take everything we do extremely slowly, we knew being 6-7 years old that it would take time, patience, and love to help them become dogs! With Jodi’s help we are glad we made the decision!

Jodi came out and met our 4 month old Belgian Malinois rescue pup when we needed guidance on how to begin training her. Jodi quickly identified our pup as a "back of the pack" girl and saw that she was taking her ques from our 7lb. Chihuahua. This information enabled us to start working on our new pups confidence and negative behaviors. Jodi also gave us thorough information about how to keep our Mal calm, along with kennel training tips. I highly recommend Jodi for any training, whether it's proactive or in response to behavior issues.
